Es Capdella Holidays

Remote spot surrounded by natural beauty

A picturesque village situated in the Tramuntana mountain range, Es Capdellà is far removed from the louder, more bustling holiday resorts of Majorca. But for visitors who wish to connect to nature and are open to the idea of being dazzled by spectacular landscapes, it’s an easy place to recommend for a visit.

Just a 30-minute taxi ride from the Majorcan capital, Palma, even the journey to Es Capdellà is a feast for the eyes. Think stunning mountain and forest scenery as you wind around gently undulating roads to your destination. And the village itself is no less pretty, as stone-faced village houses rub shoulders with uniquely designed villas, plus architectural traces of Arab and Roman occupations from eons past.

And if you’re a keen hiker, Es Capdellà makes a great base for discovering the UNESCO heritage wonders of the Tramuntana mountains. The most popular hikes include one that leads to the Torre de Capdellà, a 16th Century coastal defense tower, and, if you’re feeling particularly brave, a challenging route up Puig de Galatzó. One of the most iconic mountains in Majorca, finishing the trek will result in sweeping views that stretch from the coast to the mountains, 1026 metres above sea level.
