"Location of the resort Ca'n Picafort on the North East coast of Mallorca is very good but the transfers from Palma Airport to actually get there, are NOT good. My plane with Jet2 holidays landed on time, but it was 3 hrs later before i was stood at the hotel reception to check in. This is an issue for Jet2 not the hotel but is an issue that needs fixing.
Hotel was clean and modern and reception staff were friendly but ill informed of my communications with the hotel two weeks before my arrival with room request. However, it was sorted quickly and Esmeranza was friendly and polite on reception desk. I had to pay a tourist tax of 30 euro and 20 euro as a deposit for two pool towels, ( refunded on check out , when you return the two towels )
I got in my room eventually at 2pm, which was 12.5 hrs after I left my house to start the journey.
Rooms were clean, comfortable and I had a balcony on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool area. I did not use the the safe in the room as there was a charge.
Food was buffet style set up, walk around the vatious food stations and help yourself. Food was a fairly good quality and hygiene was abviously good because I didn't have an 'tummy or toilet issues ' whilst I was there. However, the temperature of the food was an issue for me, everything that was made or laid out was ONLY luke warm, apart from any chef station where they prepared and cooked fish and meat every night. The deserts were not fantastic but the ice cream was good. In the morning the chef would make fresh pancakes, omelettes and fried eggs. Best waiter in the restaurant was Nicolas, who was alert, friendly, and provided good service in the restsurant and also working on the bar.
The pool area was clean with plenty of beds, and I praise this hotel for actually enforcing the 'golden rule' of not allowing guests to reserve sunbeds with a towel and then disappear for hours. The pool area was fenced off until 10am to stop this happening.
The hotel is only 200m to the beach and another 10 mins along the promenade you will find the marina. There is also an Aldi store 5 mins walk away, to stock up on personal supplies or just to buy water for the room. For mid September weather was amazing with 28 C degrees temperatures everyday and sunset around 7.30pm."
