"We had an okay experience.
Cons:
- We booked on their website, where it asked the age of the infant we are traveling with (one-year). We arrived at the hotel and had not already been given a cot and were told "it's a big bed" i.e. encouraged to sleep unsafely with the baby until the morning, where the next day's staff would sort a cot. After insisting we need a cot, we were then charged €40 (for 4 nights) and a very reluctant staff member found us a cot. Not a friendly welcome nor a great start, after our flight was already delayed and we just wanted to get settled and sleep.
- We booked the half board (breakfast and dinner). Nothing was labelled - not even the name of the food, let alone the allergens or ingredients. We put in the booking notes we are one vegetarian, one vegan and one infant, yet they were very unpreppared to accomodate us. We asked a few times what certain inconspicuous dishes were and the staff, despite being advertised as English speakers, really struggled to both understand and answer us. So I tried emailling Amic Hotels, as the in-person staff were no use, for an allergen matrix but got ignored. Basically, if you have any allergens or dietary requirements, just don't bother.
- The dinner offerings were also poor. Plain spagehetti, chips, pene pasta and tomato sauce vibes. The breakfast avocado was served half frozen still. There's a burger king 1 minute away and Uber Eats also has vast options.
- We were not told dinner was served from 7pm to 9pm until we got that. With an infant, this was vital to know, as it our the main reason for booking half board rather than eaitng out.
- No drinks are included with dinner, not even water. You have to buy bottled water or wine.
- The window in my bathroom led to some internal pipes, not the outdoors. It was open when I arrived and there was mouse/rat poo in it 🤢
- We had a pram and infant, yet they booked us in a room thar required navigating several steps (no lift or ramp alternative).
- Our balconcy was spacious yet not private as you could see over from the communal balcony and hallway.
- No cold water in showers or sinks, lukewarm.
Pros:
- Mostly clean. The bathroom had some mould in the grout, the floor of the tub had visible dirt (needed scrubbing), the balcony furniture was very dirty and the infant's socks were black from running round the room. But the towels and bedding was fresh, the room and hallways were well swept (just not thoroughly mopped).
- The pool in the chain opposite (Hotel Amic Miraflores) was very clean and the staff on that desk were friendly and knew good English.
- Good location. Walking distance to the beach and bus stops that go into Palma and the Airport.
- The AC in the rooms is pretty good once it gets going.
- Small fridge in the room
- Option of a safe
- Can store your bags on check-out, before your flight home"
