Hotel Bella Mar

"Very disappointing stay – serious hygiene issues and a terrible start to our holiday Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel has been extremely disappointing and not at all what we expected. Our holiday got off to a very poor start when, upon arrival, we discovered that my friend’s room booking wasn’t available. As a result, he had to stay in a completely different hotel for the first night of our holiday. The hotel did arrange for him to stay elsewhere and did not charge him for that night, and Loveholidays also provided a small amount of compensation, which we appreciate. However, having to split up and stay in different hotels on the very first night was still an incredibly stressful and disappointing start to our holiday. We also experienced problems with the air conditioning during our stay. To be fair, the hotel did send someone to attempt to fix this, which we appreciate, but unfortunately this was only one of several issues. The biggest concern has been the cockroach problem. We have had multiple cockroaches appearing in our bath, sinks and walking around the floors of our room. We are staying on the fourth floor, and we have kept our balcony doors shut, so it is extremely concerning to repeatedly find cockroaches inside the room. This has not been a one-off sighting — we have seen multiple cockroaches throughout our stay. On top of this, we have also experienced an ant problem inside the room. Having both ants and repeated cockroach sightings has made us feel extremely uncomfortable and has seriously affected our enjoyment of the holiday. There were also some very basic things missing from the room, including no hand soap provided in the bathroom, which is particularly disappointing given the other hygiene concerns we have experienced. We have raised the cockroach issue, but despite the repeated sightings, nothing has been done to properly address the underlying problem. It is simply not acceptable to have to deal with pests repeatedly appearing in your bedroom, bathroom, bath and sinks while on holiday. We have tried to be reasonable and have given the hotel the opportunity to resolve the problems. While we appreciate that the air conditioning was attended to, that the hotel covered my friend’s alternative accommodation for the first night, and that Loveholidays offered some compensation, the ongoing pest problem has still not been adequately addressed. For the price we have paid, we expected a clean, comfortable and hygienic hotel. Instead, we have spent part of our holiday dealing with accommodation problems, a room booking issue, ants, repeated cockroach sightings and basic bathroom amenities not being provided. Sadly, we would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again. What should have been a relaxing holiday has been significantly affected by these issues, particularly the ongoing cockroach problem. I appreciate it is only a 3 star hotel however I do also believe there are bare minimum requirements when staying at a hotel .. cockroaches not being an extra guest is one of them!"

"I have just arrived back from Bella Mar in Cala Ratjada after a lovely week away. The hotel is in the best location, just a couple of streets back off the main promenade. The mariner is a couple of minutes walk away where there are endless restaurants and bars that are open all day. Looking on maps doesn’t do the location justice of how beautiful it really is. The hotel rooms are perfect for what we needed. Our room was cleaned and tidied every day. The breakfast was amazing with so much choice. There are two pools at this hotel which are really well maintained. We also did not struggle to get a sun bed. All three beaches in Cala Ratjada are a close walk away where you can also hire sun beds (around a 15-20 min walk to all three). The staff here are amazing too - we had a night time flight and they ensure you have a comfortable experience whilst waiting. We used the hotel facilities all day and they provided us with a key to a shower room with shower facilities in order to get prepared for our flight which was an amazing touch to our holiday. I cannot recommend this hotel enough for a lovely holiday to Cala Ratjada and would love to return in the future :)"

"Stayed here for 3 nights with my daughter for a relaxing break. Cannot fault the staff, all were lovely and very helpful. Pool areas and hotel very clean. The rooms are budget but very clean. The main visitors are German, but again felt very comfortable being British visitors. Prices at the bar was very good. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely come back. Thank you to all the staff."
