Adults-only escape in Majorca

Tucked away in the north-east corner of Majorca, Cala Ratjada is a sleepy seaside spot that’s all about great beaches, good eats, and that relaxed Mediterranean vibe. The hotel is within walking distance of all the essentials in town – a couple of beaches, the marina with its seafront promenade, plus bars and restaurants.

It’s all about kicking back and relaxing here. Take a dip in the outdoor pool or snag a poolside sun lounger and soak up that Mediterranean sun. Head inside and you’ll find a spa and wellness centre with heated pool and sauna. For the ultimate relaxation why not book yourself in for a massage or other treatment? Elsewhere you’ll have access to a well-equipped gym so you can squeeze in a workout if that's your vibe.

Venture out of the hotel and you’ll find plenty to keep you busy, too. Stroll the 15 minutes to Cala Moll Beach, withs its powdery soft sands perfect for a spot of sunbathing. Walk back along the promenade and you’ll reach the marina where you can hop on a boat to the neighbouring island of Menorca for an easy day trip.

The on-site breakfast spot dishes up buffet spreads to kick off your morning and swaps to an à la carte snack menu through the afternoon and into the evening. Ramble out into town at dinnertime, meanwhile, and you’ll be spoiled for choice. There are plenty of great bars and restaurants, particularly along the waterfront. Find a local tapas bar, a trendy seafood restaurant, or an authentic Majorcan bistro and tuck in.

Find out more about Cala Ratjada

Cala Ratjada is a vibrant holiday resort situated on the north-eastern coast of Majorca. Once an old fishing village, the harbour now welcomes fleets of pleasure cruises and ferries from Majorca’s sister island, Menorca. Holidays to Cala Ratjada are especially suited to those looking for a resort that’s less swamped with tourists than those on the island’s southern coast. That’s not to say there’s not plenty to see and do, though. Cala Ratjada has a great selection of bars, restaurants, and shops, which cluster around the town’s promenade and the Plaça del Pins – the town’s main square – as well as a surprisingly vibrant nightlife scene. The town’s name literally translates to ‘bay of rays’, and the area is brimming with beaches, from secluded coves to long and lively stretches of sand. If you’re a nature lover you’ll be happy here. The Cap des Freu reserve is nearby, which covers 13 hectares of mountainous landscape at the island’s most north-easterly tip. Or venture underground at the famous Cuevas de Artà caves, a short drive south of Cala Ratjada.
