Sol Cala d Or Apartments

"Great apartments in a super location close to Cala Gran. Restaurant and bars close by. Recommend visiting La Fontanella ( literally across the road ) and El Patio for food and Hollywood and Tropical Gardens for music and drinks. Apartments are spacious and clean and really good pool. We had superior room on 4th floor which is huge. Regular cleaning and no bugs anywhere. Breakfast was good with plenty variety and pool bar with snacks was very good and handy. Overall a great experience and no hesitation in recommending this place for a break."

"Spent 5 nights here with my Mum end of Sept. Honestly can’t believe the review someone has put noisy and like 18-30s. Feel like this has been posted on the wrong hotel (which happens sometimes). I’m 44 and Mum 69, we found it so peaceful and even said the music which seemed to be contained in the bar area would have been nice round the pool at times. We heard zero noise from the room at night though and we were in bed by 11pm every night. I guess if you had a street view room perhaps there could be some noise from surrounding bars, but it’s hardly Magaluf! I’d just request a pool view/ internal apartment if that is a concern. We had a ground floor apartment (room 128) right by the pool which turned out to be so good for me as I have a severe bladder condition. Apartment was modern, spacious and spotlessly clean (I am a clean freak so big tick!). It was a twin room with another single bed (with additional pull out underneath so could sleep 4 people) in the lounge/kitchen area which Mum actually opted to stay there and said it was comfortable. Air con both in the bedroom and in the lounge/kitchen area. We only had one a few times while we got ready and worked efficiently. Housekeeping is done on day 2 with floors swept, mopped and towels changed. Day 4 bed linen changed and day 2 repeated. I liked how it tells you this on the back of the door. I did chase a lovely housekeeping lady down for extra loo roll and additional towel for my hair and she was very accommodating. Bathroom was small but modern. Powerful shower which I was happy about as have loads of hair! Bar staff were lovely, and prices were decent I thought. €3.20 for a cava and about €3 for a beer. We didn’t have any cocktails so not sure on that. Food is available and we had a lovely chicken salad on our first day. Breakfast buffet looked great €15 pp) but we didn’t have it during our stay. The bar did close at 7pm so if you go at this time in the year don’t expect to sit round the bar until late. Seems to be more a daytime thing. Not sure if it opens later in high season or if this is the set up due to it being self catering and most people have drinks in their apartments. Pool area was clean and never struggled for a Sunbed. In fact got one right outside our room every day. I’m sure different in high season and I certainly wouldn’t want to go then, I feel it would be too cramped. Sunbed a right around the pool edge were right next to each other and you couldn’t even walk through them. I guess they’re just making use of the space they have and getting as many as possible in. The area was perfect. So many bars and restaurants on the doorstep and 5 mins walk away many more. Marina is about 25 mins stroll, and the other central are with bars and restaurants around 15 mins. We ate at Tapa y Mas and Diferent which I highly recommend. Portofino on the Marina was also another great meal but slightly pricier. Mum has already said she’d like to go back with my Dad and stay in this hotel.. only if she can have room 128! 😄 Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️"

"Hotel was very very noisy walls are paper thin its like an 18-30's resort. We barley slept the whole holiday very noisy from outside the hotel and inside. Rooms however was very clean and tidy"
