Protur Floriana Resort

"Never again, poor holiday experience, you could hear everything going on in all the other rooms and I mean everything, absolutely no privacy. The bedroom felt damp and cold, tried to complain and was told we could get extra blankets in needed. Food was repetitive and nothing special. Entertainment was none existent. All in all a very disappointing resort."

"What a great find. Had a really good week at the Protur Floriana. Room was very clean and the staff all friendly. Particularly around the restaurants. Entertainment team always busy. Pools clean and kept that way throughout the day which is very good to see. Evening entertainment was ok. Couple of good acts (soul sisters can really sing!) Bars were quite good. Drinks were all OK. Cocktails were not for us! Paper cups for drinks throughout the day was a bit disappointing due to the pools, but these were replaced with Glass in the evening. Would have been nice to have something a bit better away from the pool area. Food was where this place hit the spot. The standard of the main dishes were very good. There is the usual chips/pizza/pasta/nuggets/burgers etc, but the “proper” food was a very good standard. We had Monkfish twice, Salmon, Prawns, plenty of lamb on the bone, langoustines as well as the usual fair. Deserts all good. Only concern was the ice cream area which was often a mess after too many diving in to help themselves and leaving it covered in food. Was good to see the catering senior staff out front and showing pride in their job. Room was very good size as these were designed for self catering. Handy to have a fridge. Only let down was the bath/shower which could do with upgrades as we’re looking tired. Temperature fluctuations in the shower were excessive so you did need to take care. The rest of the room good. The location is great and a five minute walk to the beach. Bottom line is “would we go again to the Floriana?” Yes, a good Spanish hotel with a nice atmosphere, clean and tidy with great food."

"Writing this review as an active couple 70 plus. I knew it was a family hotel but my thoughts were as it was not a school holiday there wouldn't be many school age children there. I was very wrong, lots of school aged children and as the week went on it got busier and busier. Lots of good things to say, cleanliness, staff, rooms, and grounds were tip top. There was never a time we couldn't get a sun lounger any part of the day and to be fair they were quite comfy and pleasantly spaced out , imagine in peak time this would not be the case. It got very noisy around the pool at times but of course this is for families. I t was a pleasant stroll to beach front , about 10-15 minute walk at a steady pace, also a really nice walk into cala millor where the beach was much bigger and more sandy, spent a great full day there. Sadly the food was not always good, hit and miss really depending on your tastes. Lovely outside eating area but did get very busy at times, also quite a few cats wondering around there. The dining room itself was very noisy , not a relaxing experience. We had a very good price for this holiday. I would go back if I had young children but didn't feel it was suitable for our needs, we chose it though so our mistake. Would most definitely and indeed planning a return next spring as the actual area was very very nice."
