"...the hotel has a TOP location right on the beach in Puerto Alcudia. Absolutely positive is also the service in the hotel operation, as well as in the restaurant, as well as the maintenance of the garden and pool area! Unfortunately, the hotel has aged and is still in the same condition as it was more than 15 (or more) years ago, except for a few pleasant changes in the bathroom. The prices in October are very high, especially what a double room costs as a single! This is due to the debatable negative practice of the exaggerated marketing policy of some hotel chains, which is spreading more and more in Mallorca, namely to adjust prices according to the room location. That can be up to 1000 € and more, which is demanded from customers when they book a specific room, which however has the same square footage and equipment as all other rooms in the hotel. At the Hotel VIVA Golf, a 4*plus hotel, this can be for a so-called "Premium Room" with a surcharge for a so-called "Preferred Room" in a specific location, a price surcharge for a double room as a single for 7 nights in half-board of 1,100 €! The "Premium Room" has the same size and equipment as the other rooms in the hotel, and apart from small frills, it was exclusively the location that accounts for the high price. Furthermore, there were unpleasant stains on the sofa in the room, and on the balcony it smelled very strongly of bird droppings, coming from the birds which, along with many insects in the lush, overgrown hedges that grow from the ground floor to the 4th... ...floor, originated. Because I had booked my vacation, and thus also paid the high price of approx. 2,700 € for a double room as a single, with a surcharge for a "Premium Room" in a specific location, I was told upon inquiry that the hotel intends to purchase new furniture for the rooms next year ( ! ), as well as carry out further renovations. Unfortunately, the price was increased first, without the defects having been remedied and the worn-out furniture having been replaced! When booking, one should know that apart from the exceptional location of the hotel directly on the beach, neither the rooms nor the gastronomic offerings justify the price..."
