Vincci Soho

"Avoid. Between in lot of other negative things now sitting with a flu at the desk as in my room air conditioning vent was blowing on me while sleeping."

"What worked: The hotel is in a great location, with plenty of restaurants nearby and a very walkable surrounding area. Most of the staff were consistently friendly and attentive. Breakfast also offered a wide variety of options, and the outdoor patio was a nice touch. What did not work: We booked the hotel’s largest suite specifically so we would have more space while traveling with an infant. Unfortunately, the suite, which was located on the street side of the hotel, had a persistent issue with cigarette smoke entering the room. The maintenance staff member was quick to dismiss our concerns to his colleague right in front of us, despite housekeeping staff also coming to the room, noticing the smell, and attempting to mask it with air freshener. We ultimately had to unpack and pack into 3 different rooms. The first move was to a significantly smaller room, and the second was to a junior suite after one of the hotel’s excellent employees recognized how disruptive the situation had become and helped find a better solution. The entire ordeal took several hours across multiple days and required us to wake our infant during the night to change rooms. It significantly disrupted the beginning of our limited time in Madrid. Unfortunately, the junior suite also had a known air-conditioning issue. The bedroom portion of the suite could not cool to the set temperature, so the hotel provided a tower fan as an alternative solution. Hotel management spoke with us on the third day of our stay after I requested to meet with them. They were apologetic and offered a €100 adjustment for one night, along with a €40 breakfast credit for two people for one day. While we never fully aligned on the extent to which these issues affected our stay, I did appreciate the gestures that were made. Daniel on the Vincci team deserves special recognition. He genuinely helped salvage what was left of our experience at the property. Without his attentiveness, empathy, and willingness to help, I believe our time in Madrid would have been considerably more difficult."

"We had a great time at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and informative. They were always willing to help. The location was perfect because it was an easy walk many things of interest - museums, restaurants, tapas, and shopping."
