"The location of the hotel is excellent and it is within a 15 min walk from all major tourist attractions. The hotel staff are helpful and the breakfast was good. On the negative side, there is a refurbishment ongoing so all the windows are blocked (they informed us beforehand of this) - so no views. Also the rooms are really odd shaped with many corners. The bathroom area is open with no privacy, so if you are with children or friends that can be a real problem. The shower was also leaking water outside. Overall, I would say you are paying for the location but not much else."

"I stayed there last week of April. This hotel is undergoing major renovations!!!!!!!!!!!! You can’t see outside your room because the entire building is enveloped in scaffolding and plastic rap. Feels like your living in a cocoon. Despite numerous complaints, the hotel, to this day, is hiding the fact they are in major construction mode. Shame on the owners of this hotel and Expedia."

"We stayed at Room Mate Alicia for 5 nights and were extremely disappointed by the lack of transparency regarding the major renovation work taking place during our stay. At the time of booking, the hotel listing displayed attractive photos of the property with no indication that any construction or renovation work was actively underway. Upon arrival, we discovered extensive work affecting the hotel environment, including noise, disruption, blocked areas, and an overall experience very different from what had been advertised. The location of the hotel is excellent, the breakfast was delicious, and the employees were polite and efficient. We could have rented a room with no windows, at least there would not have been this cocoon surprise! The fact that we reserved a hotel without any mention of any disruption for our stay by the hotel nor the booking site we used is unacceptable and we are pursuing legal action."
