"We reserved directly online for 8 nights in early May 2026, using the Hotel's website. By enrolling as a Tripster Club member, we obtained their online discount code offer. Non-reimbursable reservations are available at lower cost. We paid more for reimbursable reservations with breakfast (no penalty cancellations allowed up to 1 day before check-in). Petit Palace Tres Cruces provides excellent location (central Madrid, near Puerta del Sol & Gran Via), accommodation, and buffet breakfast for anyone wanting to enjoy what Madrid has to offer. Rooms are relatively small (consistent with other urban European cities), yet comfortable. No coffee maker in room. However, upon request, front desk staff promptly delivered an electric kettle for water heating. Small safe is available in room to store valuables (passport, cash, etc.) and operates smoothly with any personal credit card (at no charge). Minibar refrigerator (without freezer) is available in room and allows for storage of small amounts of personally purchased foods/drinks. Umbrellas are also available at front desk for walks during rainy days. We found the hotel personnel superbly attentive at both front desk and breakfast room area (grateful to Heizel, Idris, Juanita, Blanca, Lucia, Alberto, Nairobis, Yago). Buffet breakfast was varied and enjoyable (07:30-10:30 during weekdays and 07:30-11:00 during weekends). When we asked to reserve our taxi for 06:30 pick-up for transfer to airport, front desk staff made arrangements to have "picnic bags" containing orange juices, sandwiches, muffins, and fruits, for both of us. And Alberto made us coffee to consume at the lobby before our departure! We did not get to meet any chamber maids/attendants, yet they also delivered excellent service; rooms were impeccably cleaned daily with fresh bed linens and towels. Eco-friendly containers attached to bathroom and shower walls provide body lotion, soap, shampoo, and conditioner. These were properly replenished. Tres Cruces hotel location is nicely off the main streets. It is proximal to Plaza del Carmen (where people occasionally gathered until late hours, resulting in some noise) -- nothing that altered our ability to get a good night's rest! We experienced excellent access to Madrid metro and buses, and enjoyed walks to Puerta del Sol, Gran Via, Plaza Mayor, Plaza San Miguel, Catedral de la Almudena Cathedral & Palacio Real, as well as to Calle de Alcalá, Parque El Retiro, and various neighborhoods and museums (walked to El Prado; took buses to Reina Sofia and Thyssen-Bornemisza). Excellent variety of tapas bars and restaurants within walking distance. While we did not attend any, several musical plays are readily accesible in Gran Via. All things considered, this boutique 3-star hotel certainly delivers VFM. Note: while walking around Madrid, we also observed the presence are several other neighboring Petit Palace Hotelity chain hotels, but cannot comment on their accommodation or services. Will likely return to Petit Palace Tres Cruces on our future travels to Madrid!"
