"Four Points Flex by Sheraton makes no secret of the fact that it is a two-star hotel, and in my opinion, that is exactly the level of accommodation it delivers. It is primarily the room design and the lack of amenities that bring down the overall experience: ▪️ No minibar. ▪️ No kettle. ▪️ No luggage rack. ▪️ No wardrobe. ▪️ Very few amenities ▪️ No toilet brush. ▪️ No in-room safe. ▪️ The rooms feel sterile and impersonal. Breakfast is a chapter of its own. The breakfast area is minimalist, both in design and in the selection on offer. Only cold cuts are served, and the products are placed close together, leaving insufficient space for guests to move around comfortably. The result is predictable: queues and congestion. Most surprising is the placement of the coffee machine, right in the middle of an already limited breakfast area. It becomes a natural bottleneck, contributing to the growing queues. A more carefully planned layout would make a significant difference. Perhaps the coffee machine could be moved to where the Uber terminal is currently located, with the terminal itself relocated closer to the hotel entrance. Sometimes it simply takes a little experimentation to find a layout that works better. Overall, the breakfast area feels poorly thought out. An interior designer with an understanding of both functionality and guest flow could make a real difference. This is compact accommodation in every sense of the word. Everything is small, from the rooms to the communal spaces. You may even find yourself in a room where the shower cubicle door doubles as the bathroom door. It says quite a lot about just how space-efficient the design is. That said, the hotel deserves credit for what it gets right. It is clean, the reception is staffed 24 hours a day, and the location is relatively central, making it a practical base from which to explore Madrid. They also have a vendingmachine close to the reception. My verdict: A simple and functional place to stay if all you need is somewhere to sleep, but certainly not a hotel where you will want to spend more time than necessary. If you cannot find a more appealing option at a reasonable price, perhaps through Airbnb, you may simply have to accept that Madrid is an expensive city to stay in. An acceptable place to sleep, but not much more. Clean and reasonably well located, yet lacking the comfort, amenities and thoughtful design that would make it a truly enjoyable hotel experience."
