"LONG DETAILED REVIEW FOR FUSSY PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO RESEARCH EVERYTHING BEFORE BOOKING: {Context: UK Half-term ('mid-term' in Ireland) week long break-first time in Costa Teguise-normally go to Puerto Del Carmen. British/Irish family]
Fantastic experience-will definitely be back. this hotel is THE place to go with kids! I cant believe I had not noticed it before. The constant entertainment at the main pool is brilliant. It is lively with music and noise and fun. There is also a quieter pool if you do not want music, so something for everyone. We wanted entertainment as we have an only child. There were loads of kids from UK and Ireland. This is the first time I didn't need to rely on the kids club for entertainment-they don't even need it-there's just loads of kids playing in the pool and a very relaxed atmosphere-they can jump in, play with balls, inflatables etc-it's great! The entertainment animation team did the magic carpet, water games, pool-side games with balloons, water-polo-all brilliant! There is a mini club and maxi club-my son was the age for the maxi club (9-15) which just announces the activities are starting now by the pool-they don't go off like a mini club. There is mini golf near the pool and just pick up the clubs and do it-no formal process-again, everything is so relaxed! There are tennis courts and beach volleyball courts that are always open. The best part: THE AMAZING FOOTBALL PITCH!!!! We booked for this reason as we have a football mad 9 year old! Kids can go in and out any time and there are always lads knocking around with a ball, which is perfect for an only child and gives them a small bit of independence, but when the maxi club animation team announces football and they meet by the pool a lot of days around 11am, there is an organised match and there could be 20 boys playing-it's fantastic and really helped my young lad improve (I noticed when he got home and was playing with his team).
The gym is super and is a real proper gym which is indoors but then the glass front is completely open so you feel like you are outdoors and yet still stays cool. There is a small studio where they do yoga, though the yoga wasn't proper yoga in the sense of what you would do in a class at home. The machines are all good and new and clean.
The food was great. The hotel restaurant food was good quality. My only criticisms are: It's a bit weirdly laid out. They could do with organising it into sections like other all inclusives do and better organise the themes-its just a bit all over the place but still fresh, hot and tasty. I am a coeliac and I had no problem and did not get ill. They also don't have nuggets-I know this seems a weird thing to mention but if you are a mother to a fussy eater, chicken nuggets are a life saver! a few parents commented on this so that is something the hotel should consider. My son mostly ate in the poolside snack bar during the day instead-hot dogs, burgers etc-all good and cooked well. We didnt eat in the Italian as we heard it wasn't worth it. We looked at the chinese buffet but if we were doing chinese we were going over to Beijing as we heard such great things and we definitely made the right choice. The hotel chinese offered only a few dishes and you have to go out front so its quite empty with no atmosphere. All Inclusive gets repetitive by the end so we did go across the road to the little shopping area/precinct/shopping centre that you walk through to get to the beachfront. We ate in 'Beijing' the all you can eat chinese that you order off the menu (not a walk around buffet) for €16.90 per adult and €5.90 per child. We read about it on a facebook forum and it was super. There are suspension trampolines set up next to it (€6 for 10 mins) so kids can play on that while adults are at the table. The location is great across from the shops and plenty of restaurants and the seafront. There is a supermarket attached to the front of the hotel, another gift type chinese shop and a little breakfast place. Out the back gate of the hotel is more shops-I like these chinese shops with the fake designer bags, wallets, glasses etc, a few british pub and cafe type places and a brilliant entertainment place suitable for families or teens alone-mini golf, basketball hoop games, ping pong, pool etc. There is a great Spar supermarket back there also and ladies a great place to get a blowdry called Angies. She does hair and beauty and apparently is great for reflexology. I had my hair colour done as I had read about her and I had no time before going away-it was cheaper and better than at home so will definitely be back! is Most people don't seem to know about the back gate and what is out there! That is my only criticism of this hotel-they actually do not tell you checking in how great they are! They don't say all the things they have there-you have to figure it out. They don't tell you about all the things right in front or behind. This is actually an amazing resort but they don't sell themselves. I have never seen such a great gym in an all inclusive, nor such a great entertainment/animation schedule but you have to really go look to find out what's on for the day because its not shown all over the place like other resorts-there's a board by the pool tables near reception and another somewhere else but I have been in all inclusives where its on big boards and tv channels and apps and they weren't even as good as this! They should sell themselves more! I am very fussy as I work in hospitality and I give this 5 stars. I didn't take anything off for the room, which was not as modern as other places I have stayed in Lanzarote (Sentido Aequora still has the most modern rooms I have ever found in a family AI), but it was clean and well equipped and minimalist. The view from the balcony overlooking main pol was great (I was in block 1, third floor) and if I had asked for a 2 bedroom suite that would have been more modern but there were none available. I was glad in end that I hadn't paid more for that because the junior suite was spacious enough for 2 adults and 1 child. If I was to be really picky I would say include a coffee maker in all rooms because its nice to have on the balcony in the morning rather than trekking to the restaurant or snack bar (by the way bring a travel cup because the paper coffee cups are spanish servings!! If you are British or Irish bring a proper travel up and hit the espresso button on those machines in the restaurant/pool bars once then once again then hit the hot water button to get close to an americano we get at home-the 'americano' button the machine is small and not like home. There is a lavazza machine in the reception for a euro but its confusing and a tiny serving (see I am fussy!!). Lastly there is a wonderful massage and beauty place on site by the mini golf. Again, reception do not tell you and you would easily miss the signs. We had massages and they were excellent. I had a facial and it was great after all the sunscreen etc and even tough its beside everything its lovely and quiet-sometimes you hear a child in the distance and ladies as mothers isn't it lovely to feel they are out there and you are inside in the quiet!!! You can ask for a couples massage in same room also. They take bookings even on the day-another hidden gem that people don't know about!
All in all FANTASTIC 5 STARS AND I AM SUPER FUSSY! Only improvements are sell themselves better, coffee machines in rooms, maybe do a proper schedule of yoga and pilates classes as a lot of mams would love and make use of that fantasic studio, and lay the food out better and make clear themes-oh and chicken nuggets please! See you next year again for sure Los Zocos!!!"
