"Disappointing Birthday Stay – Would Not Return Our stay at Bonito Ibiza was incredibly disappointing, especially as this was a birthday trip that we had been looking forward to. Unfortunately, the issues we experienced throughout our stay meant that the overall experience fell far below our expectations. In the room we were unhappy with: A damp smell due to unfinished “look” to ceiling and also we didn’t get any sun in the room due to our view being a brick wall, which didn’t help the damp smell clear up. It was such a disappointing view of a brick wall, even though we booked a suit. We understand we weren’t going to get a pool view due to what we chose. But a brick wall with no attempt to even cover it with anything! Was an eyesore. The bed also consisted of two mattresses pushed together, which was not what we expected from our booking of a double bed in a suit! Amenities in the room weren’t up to scratch either, eg broken hair dryer that was never replaced and we asked for a steamer that came broken, and the replacement one was also broken. This is when we found room service/ concierge staff rude when on the phone. The service was equally disappointing throughout the hotel, especially at the bar. We experienced rude behaviour from one staff member in particular. Food was another concern. We found a bone in a club sandwich, which is completely unacceptable and certainly not what you expect when paying for a hotel experience of this standard. On one morning we awoke to loud drilling, which further affected our sleep. On one of our final mornings, our towels were removed after approximately 30 minutes, which was frustrating and added to the feeling that guest experience was not being prioritised. This policy was also not mentioned during check in. There was also the issue of the £500 hotel deposit, which we were not made aware of upon booking. This was a significant amount of money and something we should have been clearly informed about in advance so that we could make an informed decision before committing to the holiday. We have raised a formal complaint because these were not isolated issues; they were a series of problems that affected our overall experience. While our complaint has not been ignored, we still feel it is important to share our experience publicly so that other travellers are aware of the issues we encountered. For a trip that was supposed to be a special birthday celebration, the experience was incredibly disappointing. We expected a much higher standard of accommodation, service and communication. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not choose to return or recommend this stay to others."

"Hotel looks beautiful but service isn’t great, they also charge your card 500 euros and I’m now home a week and still haven’t received the funds back. Rooms are cold as the AC wouldn’t turn down, was told this is a “summer hotel” with no resolution. Can’t order cocktails to the room, they tried to charge 10.50 euros for two glasses and some ice to the room too. Some staff were lovely others not at all. Also the key card never works so had to walk all the way to reception numerous times"

"Let me start with the good of this hotel. The place is set out great with two pools and bar and restaurant. Upstairs pool bar/ nighttime Mexican restaurant. Poolside dj. Great friendly helpful staff at reception. Great for cleaning the room. Now the bad. The place is chaos. It’s a party hotel. Never been in such a noisy hotel. I’m talking non stop. Even the staff mouthing off at 4 in the morning getting the breakfast bar ready. On check in you get a free drink but it’s chaotic.They take a €500 deposit on your credit card for any damage to the room which I did get back a few days after the holiday. People coming and going. Staff all over the place. Went into the bar until check in and was all good drinking service hit and miss to be honest it felt like pulling teeth trying to get served at times. Got in the room. Room is set out where you walk through the bathroom to the bedroom but all good. Great tv. Fridge bed comfy all clean etc but the toilet is the smallest toilet Iv seen and in a room which felt like a cupboard. Wondering if it was a design fault. That was Friday. Next onto Saturday we ordered room service the breakfast. Various phone calls. We don’t understand English etc we thought after an hour it wasn’t happening so went out for breakfast. On return the breakfast was sat in the room ice cold. No worries. Then a day of drinking in the bar. Same again service was ok hit and miss then after a bit of rain and the pool opening forget getting served. The girl we asked said she was busy and walked past us another 4 times. We decided to go out instead. At night tried the bar again. Stood waiting like a plumb no service so left again. Waste of time. Sunday we tried the breakfast in the restaurant/bar which was good but same again absolutely chaotic people all over the place. Ques all over. We went to o beach that day so that took care of itself. Monday we tried the rooftop bar which is meant to open at 11 but was about 15 minutes after some other Poole had to complain. No bar was open. Some staff still folding towels up no seats ready. It had been a storm over night though so this might be why. Was very small to be honest and obviously nothing to drink so hung about for 15 minutes and left. They did let us have late check out to 4pm free of charge which was great. So in all it was good and bad Iv nicknamed it the bi polar hotel. Costs a lot of money for average experience due to the staff in the bar and restaurant basically."
