Barcelo Portinatx

"This was our first time in Ibiza and we are so glad we chose Barcelo Portinatx! The hotel is modern, spotless and very pretty with staff who are all great at their jobs, from housekeeping through to the bar and restaurant team and to the reception staff. Special shout out to Pia and Maria for their help and assistance during our stay but everyone we came across was great. We stayed half board and the food at breakfast and dinner was varied and good quality. Our only note was that there was not great separation between vegetarian and meat dishes at the buffet with guests often sharing the utensils across different dishes. We would suggest having a separate vegetarian area to mitigate against this. Buses to Ibiza town and back are fairly regular and super cheap - no need for taxis unless you are out very late. The medieval festival was on while we were here and it was great fun - the old town itself is brilliant for wandering around in. Our room was truly beautiful and very comfortable. We were on the top floor (5th) with a large veranda which had its own Bali bed and jacuzzi. Just the most blissful hours were spent watching the little boats in the harbour. We are leaving today and I will miss that beautiful view very much :) All in all, a fantastic stay and very much recommended if you are looking for a relaxing holiday and a proper break."

"Booked this hotel for a short break after a disappointing experience at another hotel. Had requested loungers for the balcony as the seats provided looked too uncomfortable for me. This had not been done bit hardly five minutes after we repeated the request at Reception two excellent maintenance men arrived and placed two loungers on the balcony. Typical of the response and efficiency of this hotel. We booked a Junior suite with sea view and were very happy with the room. It had a separate seating area with built in sink, fridge and microwave, kettle and coffee machine. Large comfortable bed and good sized balcony that provided us with amazing sunsets each night. Breakfast was excellent - good range of food and cooked breakfasts to order if wanted. We used the dinner buffet on one night and also found this to be excellent. Only two problems. Lots of steps so if you have mobility problems this may not be suitable. And some distance up a steep hill to the town and its shops/restaurants. Location had strengths and weaknesses. Beautiful setting but rather isolated."
