Hotel Caribe Ibiza

"I went to the Caribe in May with a friend. I loved it so much I booked again to return in October, this time with my partner and 1 year old son. I whatsapped the hotel a week before we arrived and just asked if there was any chance of us having a nice view or better still overlooking the entertainment then that would be amazing. I explained we would likely be in our bedroom most of the evening as our baby son would be asleep so it would be a couple of drinks on the balcony for us, hence the request for something nice to look at. I had the reply my request was noted but not guaranteed. No problem! When we arrived, we were given our room key and found we were on the first floor corner with the only view of a red concrete floor covered with cigarette butts and bird poo. Probably the worst view in the whole of the hotel. I went down to reception and asked if there was any chance to change. I said I didn’t want anything we hadn’t paid for, but maybe something on a higher floor or basically anything but that! No, she said. My only option was to pay 160 euros for a sea view. I said surely there’s a room without a sea view which I could change to? The answer was no and it was made very clear that either I pay or I could look at bird poo for the whole holiday. I explained about the baby and us wanting to use the balcony when he was asleep. But no. Absolutely no budging whatsoever. I asked someone else the next day if the hotel was full and was told it wasn’t. So I seriously doubt there wasn’t another room available. So I was ripped off into paying money that I don’t have. I wish I hadn’t whatsapped my request as it feels the room choice was purposely done to make me pay more money. As a repeat customer it made me feel like absolute rubbish. I feel ripped off and am so angry with having to pay all that money. Shame on you Caribe."

"Fantastic location right near the beach, restaurants and shops. The hotel was very clean and staff are very friendly and helpful. The entertainers were amazing with the children at the mini disco and super friendly great for families, The aqua fit class was loads of fun. The children’s splash park was fabulous some great slides for them to play on and the park right next to it so you can see your children playing quite easily while relaxing on a sunbed. The food was average you have your typical pizza, chips, pasta and alot of fish served so if you’re not a fish lover you may struggle. The rooms are basic but clean and you could hear the other guests quite easily in their rooms so not great sound proofing, lots of noisy guests when we stayed who were shouting loudly and arguing late into the night so afew nights disturbed sleep. Overall we had a lovely holiday here if you’re looking for a family friendly budget hotel then this is an ideal place to stay as there is something for everyone."

"On arrival first impressions were good and unfortunately that’s where it ended. Took 80 minutes to check in due to the large number of guests all arriving at the same time and the lack of staff on reception desk. Although we could use facilities no rooms were allocated until 2pm. Rooms are very basic. There is a small fridge,No kettles provided, only waste bin was a small basket in the bathroom. beds are firm but okay. Floors were grubby and covered in what felt like sand and hair, tops were dirty with glass/cup ring marks so take antibacterial wipes to clean. The wardrobe had plenty of space and hangers. Bathroom was clean although would benefit from a deep clean. Take your own towels as the towels provided are more like hand towels. For an all inclusive I found the lack of pool towels a bit bizarre. Be aware that your neighbours can hear your shenanigans through the walls and up the corridors and on the balconies 😅 definitely not a pleasant experience The Food… if you like chips, pasta with watery sauces or salad you will do okay here. We are well travelled and this is by far the worst we’ve ever experienced. There is no 24 hr coffee machine either. 500ml Water is £3.50 out of a vending machine. Pool area is grubby and the bottom of the pools are dirty. Plenty of sunbeds though. Animation team are always on the go if you like that sort of thing. The hotel is in a good area, 2 minutes walk to the beach with loads of restaurants and tat shops dotted around. We read the reviews before we left and had great expectations. I don’t know where all these good reviews come from the place is awful. Will not return!"
