"We arrived at the hotel and was rather impressed of the exterior and initial interior of the reception area. Both were clean, fresh and modern. The reception staff welcomed us with a class of Champagne which was a really nice touch to begin our holiday, We were given our room card which was in the form of a wrist band.
We had room 1415 on the fourth floor. The room interior was to a relatively good standard, clean and modern, as you would expect from a four star hotel. It took a little bit of getting used to the layout of the room but was happy overall. We were to the side of the hotel looking over a rooftop with a side view of the sea. It was a lovely room but at night it was rather noisy from the entertainment and general nightlife.
Housekeeping were prompt with remaking beds, changing towels and re-stocking refreshments although whilst we were there their was a wind storm that made some of the rendering from the walls fall off the walls onto a part of our balcony, which was never cleaned up until the day before we were leaving, days after it happened. However we can not fault the spaciousness of the room and the fabulous water pressure of the shower, which you don’t always get with all hotels.
We had opted for Half Board as part of our holiday package and in hince-sight we might have just got bed and breakfast as the food options were repetitive with the same breakfast choices each morning and whilst there was a good selection of different food on an evening (dependant on your tastes) there wasn’t much flavour or seasoning to some of the dishes that were supposed to be spicier dishes, which was disappointing. It would have also have been nice to have had a few traditional Spanish dishes.
A stand out staff member was a super friendly lady called Fatima, I was disappointed one evening when there wasn’t any fruit I liked out for dessert, I asked Fatima if they had any strawberries in the kitchen I could have and within a minutes there she was with a bowl full. It happened on a few occasions and she was always super friendly and accommodating. Such a fabulous woman.
Whilst there was a food truck located in the pool area outside is a lovely unique addition you do have to pay extra for food unless you are All Inclusive guests.
It is also worth noting if you are thinking about staying at the Alua Soul Hotel in Ibiza that the pictures showing the infinity pool are only for premium member guests only! the two pools for other guests were good sizes although trying to get a sun-beds after 9:30-10am was ridiculously. People come down as early as 6:30/7am to reserve a sun-bed which isn’t very fair for those who want a lie-in or struggle to get up so early in the morning. The rule about taking towels off sun-beds after 15 minutes isn’t an enforced rule and should really be to make if fair for everyone of all ages.
Activities at the hotel during the day were really well organised. They included things like darts, paella & sangria making, AquaFit, AquaDance, Bingo and evening entertainment. They were entertaining and fun.
In terms of the location of the Hotel, it is in the perfect proximity to lots of different restaurants, cafes, bars and a few ice-cream places. There are also multiple supermarkets and trinket shops nearby. The beach is a stones throw away from the hotel however the water sports offered are more aimed at children. On thing we wanted to do on our holiday was Parasailing and prior to coming I was under the impression we could do it from the beach, however this wasn’t the case and we actually ended up walking down to Santa Eulalia marina to do it.
I decided to try one of the the spa treatment, which was excellent. The lady was really friendly, accommodating and kind. Although, one thing I will say is the location of the massage was disappointing, bit was right outside where the pool table was so it was slightly distracting with people cheering and talking in the background which at times over powered the relaxing music and atmosphere of the message.
Overall in terms of the hotel facilities we were rather impressed, all aspects of the hotel including the pool area was clean and well maintained. Staff were all friendly and always on hand to help with any excursion enquiries or anything you needed help with. There are so many places to explore in the world that we probably won’t be returning, however I would recommend to anyone thinking about booking this hotel."
