"We loved our stay at this hotel. It’s a great location right between old town and playa de bossa where the big cubs are. There is a taxi rank and bus stop right outside the hotel, both options offer reasonable fares if you go into either old town or to the Ushuaia end.
We stayed on the 5th floor and found it wasn’t loud like other reviews had stated, but doors would slam shut making a noise. We found our room was clean and modern. There was a good mix of nationalities at the hotel and not too many young children. We felt the hotel was more aimed at adults as the evening entertainment comes on at 10pm. The entertainment shows were ok but some of the performances were a little odd with regards to the themes and choice of music/acts.
Breakfast and lunch offered a good choice for all preferences, but dinner was slightly limiting with what was on offer . Some food items stated they were vegan but then contained fish.
We weren’t impressed with the juice bar, they were really watery and contained minimal fruit. The ice cream smoothies weren’t much better and when we tried to ask if the coconut smoothie contained any milk ( due to a dairy allergy in my family ) the lady (who was very friendly) didn’t seem to understand what we were asking, although the counter signage asks you to state if you have any allergies and she then proceeded to add milk to this coconut smoothie. There is a Starbucks counter but this isn’t included if you are all inclusive. The drinks options for all inclusive guests was impressive- good branded beers and spirits, and there were good cocktails on the list too.
The hotel could easily make a few minor improvements to help improve guest experience. I would recommend they need to fix the reception/ bar area female toilet doors and latches, as well as fixing the taps. Also if you are all inclusive then the rooms mini fridges should be restocked daily with soft drinks/water ( no alcohol in fridges) at no extra charge if you are all inclusive, currently if you drink what’s provided on the first day you then have to pay for all extra items you drink from there on. In addition be aware that after 11pm drinks are not included if you are on the all inclusive package and you have to pay.
The hotel could do with more sun-beds in peak season; because if you do arrive to the pool around midday there are no spare beds despite there being plenty of room, it would be a good idea to keep spare sun beds stacked up for this reason.
Be aware that you can’t access the immediate pool area until 10am due to daily maintenance and cleaning routines…. which is frustrating for those guests who want an early morning swim. It would make sense for the pool team to start cleaning earlier so the pool opens at 9 or 9:30am for guests.
We nearly looked in to upgrading to the upper level bar and pool area access, however after a visit up there one evening, we were glad we didn’t as the pool is very small and the sea views were better from the lower pool area sunbeds.
The majority of staff were very friendly and helpful, especially within house keeping and the snack bar area.
Everyday feedback was requested by the entertainment team so we requested music around the pool each day but this didn’t happened…. A few older guests that spoke to said they would like this too as other hotels they had been too offered this and it improves the ambience around the pool. It doesn’t have to be loud music or be on all day, but we noticed the whole vibe changed (positively) when the water aerobics team appeared and put their music on,
All in all we enjoyed our stay and would return."
