"I will write a more detailed review after the whole holiday but the sunbed situation is terrible....10 beds and 5 umbrellas all reserved and not a person on them...then they start trickling out a few at a time over the course of a day...its not the biggest pool or pool area and something should be said especially when its packed with people. Umbrellas are limited as it is. A little consideration for others doesnt go amiss."

"Unfortunately after eagerly awaiting our long awaited holiday I feel the need to advise future guests because had I have read the low reviews I may have realised instead of just seeing the top reviews and not scrolling down to see the reality of what we had, this is certainly NOT a family friendly experience, first upon arrival and the severe smell of vile sewer and what can only be described as going back in time, a charge for a remote to actually keep us remotely cool & able to breath as no awnings or place of shade from the apartment which was in dire need of a severe upgrade, and in 35 degrees you can imagine how much this was needed and feel the extra charge a little out of order and should be included, the apartment wasn’t cleaned but beds made once in a fashion during our weeks stay, cutlery and what they expect you to cook with are totally unacceptable and over decades old, if you have children I’m afraid you’ll have to keep them away from a pool that at no point was I advised prior to booking only opened from 11-7 and the lifeguard would be unable to help if needed as either asleep or the language barrier as proven when a gentleman unfortunately feel straight through the poolside tiles right upto his waist as maintenance is a big problem here and our point was proven in view, we paid for bed and breakfast which I wouldn’t recommend and although we loved Bong I hardly think he’d pass any health and hygiene standards but yes I admit the ONLY good thing about this place. And having spoken to numerous other guests who have been long term returning guests they have advised there has been no upgrade for over 15 years and advised us not to eat the breakfast as she had witnessed coacroaches in the breadbin and that this is the first year where the pool has these opening times and the first year of a lifeguard who lets face it was a useful as a chocolate fire guard so overall a great awaited holiday was a complete let down and to top it off our arranged shuttle didn’t arrive to get us to the airport but seriously I would take a greater look at what your getting and don’t mind going back in time but I would personally not return and found the overall experience extremely disappointing"

"Pros: Location is great and self catering apartment had most things you would require. Cleaners came every few days to empty bins etc. beds changed twice over a 10 night stay. Yes everything about the place is dated, but the apartment is clean and, well, you get what you pay for. 5 minute stroll to the beach and at least 15 different bars/restaurants. Bus stops only a couple of minutes away (we took buses to Puerto de Mogan) Taxi rank just before the beach. Didn’t see one cockroach in Amadores. Cons: Our apartment was situated on the ground floor, right next to the pool. Very little privacy as the usual suspects start loitering around the pool area from 9am, waiting to put their towels down and reserve a bed. Our apartment didn’t have air con. It had a ceiling fan (hire the remote for €15) but as the fan was only in the living area and not the bedroom, we didn’t bother. Enquired about hiring a standing fan - they don’t offer these. Sleeping in the heat is impossible. Our fridge had a small freezer compartment at the top - just big enough for a bag of ice. As there was no door to the freezer compartment, the bag of ice melted overnight and the fridge/floor was soaked in the morning. We had to forgo anything needing to be kept frozen. Our bathroom door couldn’t close - we had to push it with all our strength to get it to wedge just enough to not have the door wide open. An abandoned towel and pair of trunks were left on a seating area for the entire duration of our holiday. A dropped ice cream was left on the ground outside for the duration of our holiday. Being right next to the pool bar, meant we did not get a moments peace when in our apartment. Curtains remained closed each day for privacy and to block out the sun, but had to keep the door open for some air when in the room - screaming kids, metal chairs constantly scraping against the floor and people playing music/pool past 11pm most nights meant it wasn’t just the heat that kept us awake. A booklet inside the apartment requested quiet from 22.00 - this did not happen once for us during our stay. My bed had a mattress protector which had a large ridge in the middle - very uncomfortable. Pillows were like a bag of socks in a pillowcase. We left our apartment by 10am most mornings to get away from the noise - tried to stay out as long as we could each day, before returning to our boiling hot, noisy room. Wafts of sewage greeted us periodically through the day/night. For the price and location, I would recommend staying here - just not on the ground floor. You couldn’t pay me to stay in room 106 again!"
