•Views! Absolutely stunning
•All staff are very friendly and attentive, lovely people
•Cleanliness. They really do try to keep the place as clean as possible given that it is very dated and worn
▪︎Twice we had to call reception, once because we'd locked ourselves out and once because the drain in the shower was backing up. Both times a member of staff was promptly there to sort it.
▪︎A lovely unexpected gesture was left in the room on my partners birthday. A bottle of fizz and a card was in the room on our return.
•Breakfast and lunch buffet nice enough (cheese board and wine, oooh)
•Pool itself is ok
•Lots of little hideaway sunbathing areas with different view points
•Sunbeds and brolly comfortable enough
•Towels (note that you have to hire these but we didn't mind this as they were good quality)

•On arrival you are given a key to put your own luggage in the holding room while you go for dinner. Then, in the dark we were given a map and had to navigate and struggle up and down hundreds of steps and slopes with heavy cases. We are fortunately fit, but we have seen older people really struggle with their cases and finding their rooms in the heat and at night. Someone should show you to your room and take your luggage for you. Not what you need after a flight or if you are elderly
•In desperate need of essential maintenance, dangerous broken steps and loose glass etc, this is an accident waiting to happen.
•Although clean, the rooms are falling to pieces, leaks in bathrooms, awful patchwork to grouting etc, leak on ceiling, shower drain clogging up, fusty, drainage smell
•All inclusive, not good at all...cocktails out of a bottle taste awful, spirits taste watered down, snacks non existent, lunch buffet for some stupid reason you cannot take outside, we ended up having to pay for some nachos at the outside bar as we wanted to eat in the fresh air at lunchtime. We also ate out every night as the evening buffet just seemed like you were eating in a cafe
•'restaurant ' where you get your buffet food sometimes smells like a greasy spoon. Food is nice and staff are great, but some upgrades need to be done to kitchen ventilation and filters.
•beds...2 small single beds pushed together which slide about when you move, mattress and pillows so uncomfortable i didn't sleep properly all week and had a bad back and hips
•Island of the stars. Supposed to be some sort of adults only Pool club set above the main areas. Veiw lovely, Pool and beds in the pool lovely. However, the concept is bonkers. We had a 'free pass' for the first day, and are pretty adamant the lady on reception told us you get one free drink. This left us a little puzzled as we were AI. There was one other couple up there and after waiting about 30mins getting thirsty and no one being on the bar we walked downstairs and got our AI drinks to take back up. To be met by a waiter that asked to see our tickets and exclaimed that it is not AI so we shouldn't bring our drinks up. The drink we paid for was nice, and tbh what we should expect being AI.
Again this area is in need of maintenance, there were broken and cracked rocks across the pool walkway. But beds nice. If we wanted to go in again it would be €25pp and I think you get one drink with that.
All week there were no more than about 6 people up there at once. A much better concept here would be to lower the price, have drinks AI (basic beers, wines, but charge for premium drinks) and some snacks, this way more people would use it, giving the barman something to do all day, and also this would free up the main pool area which is extremely crowded. You cannot walk around to the steps to different areas because of Sunbeds all over the walkways. Being 2 adults we would have used the island of the stars all week if it was as I have suggested. But how it is, no one uses it and this makes the other pool crowded.
For context, there is a 'beach club' down by the harbour with heated pools, Sunbeds and towels, the reviews are great and it is €35pp with €25 back to spend on food and drink. A much better business concept and the cocktails, drinks and food are all great.
To summerise this is a very rundown hotel with a not very good AI package. Drinks are awful (beer, wine and soft drinks are fine). Dangerous defects that require essential maintenance and a look at the AI packages and drinks 'could' see this hotel being a 4 or 5* if it was managed right and some money put into it in the right areas. The views are absolutely stunning so it is a perfect location. It was a shame there were some problems. But would just like to reiterate that the staff are lovely. (Pictures to back up review)
We made the most of it, it was nice to get some winter sun and was fit enough to endure the steps and explore"
