"If you have a car, do not choose this hotel. In theory, the hotel offers customer parking, but in practice, the spaces are always occupied by staff vehicles. Staff members even reserve spots by placing chains in front of empty spaces, leaving no room for guests to park. Unfortunately, this means we won’t be returning to this hotel. On the positive side, the location is excellent, the balconies are spacious, and all rooms have a sea view. Room cleaning was satisfactory. Most of the staff were friendly, but all-inclusive guests didn’t seem to be a priority. Be prepared to queue! Despite the hotel’s large size, there are only two coffee machines, and there’s always a line during breakfast. Even though the elevators worked fine, they don’t reach all areas, so you’ll still need to use stairs."

"Coming to the end of our stay and in all honesty it’s been a good holiday. The hotel is great, the food has been good and the views are amazing! My only issues are the cleaning of the rooms could be so much better. They only make the beds and sort of clean the floors. The cocktails on all inclusive are not great so we have been sticking to beer and Prosecco. There is a lovely little complex of shops and restaurants about an 8 minute walk up the hill which is great! Taxis are very affordable to Puerto Rico and Amadores beach. The hotel also offers a free bus service to the beach and Puerto Rico at certain times for free. So all in all good holiday and perfect weather. 👌"

"We’re coming to the end of our 2 week stay at the Altamar & what an amazing time it’s been. Just wanted to say thank you to all the staff, from the cleaners, maintenance, restaurant/bar staff, entertainment team & reception staff who have all given fantastic service throughout our stay & work tirelessly to make the hotel a fantastic place to stay. We would like to say a special thank you to Alberto on reception who has gone above and beyond for us throughout our stay. We had originally booked a 2 bedroom apartment but on arrival found there was none available, although it wasn’t ideal as a family (2 x adults & 4 x children) we were given 2 premium rooms next to each other on the 6th floor which was better than expected, Alberto also arranged for us to have a free upgrade from half board to all inclusive as well as allowing us keep one of the rooms on until 6pm free of charge on checkout. His customer service is absolutely fantastic. He is a credit to the Altamar. Thank you Alberto for all you have done for us, it’s greatly appreciated 🙂 Having been coming to the Altamar since 2013, my only constructive criticism feedback would be evening entertainment could do with a bit of an improvement. Music playing round family pool throughout the day to be more consistent & bring back cash bingo happy hour. I would highly recommend the Altamar it’s absolutely fantastic, from the rooms, balconies, food, service & the views are amazing. We brought my mother in law & father in law for the first time this year, they loved it that much they have already booked for next year. Having stayed at other hotels on the island, this has to be one of the best hotels, it does branded Coca Cola, Fanta & Sprite on the all inclusive as well as branded Heinz tomato sauce, mustard & mayo as well as HP brown sauce Thank you again Alberto & the Altamar for an amazing holiday 🙂 See you again soon 😎"
