Great Amenities and Central Location

Contemporary design and tropical surroundings pair up at the Suites & Villas by Dunas, a Zen-like resort on the sleepy outskirts of Maspalomas. You’re in a tranquil spot here, but it’s only a 15-minute walk from the nearest sandy beach, which unrolls along the southern coast of the island for more than three kilometres. The resort is designed in the style of a traditional Canary Island village, with low-rise, terracotta-shaded blocks freckled among tropical greenery.

The family facilities are in good supply here. There’s a choice of pools, with some set aside just for little ones, and they’re all tucked among gardens full of palms and water features. The kids’ club lays on games and arts and crafts for smaller guests, and the sports line-up ticks off things like rifle shooting, aerobics and team tournaments at the multi-use court. When it comes to dining, you can look forward to big buffet spreads in the on-site restaurant. It’s an international theme, so the flavours are varied and inspired by cuisines from around the world. The tapas restaurant, meanwhile, serves authentic Spanish cuisine on the terrace. The poolside bar serves up snacks and ice-cream throughout the day, and the afternoon tea comes highly recommended.

Whooshing down waterslides, spotting the local wildlife, basking in the sun, salsa dancing till dawn… what can’t you do in Maspalomas? Holidays in what is one of Gran Canaria’s best resorts have something to appeal to every taste. Maspalomas holidays mean enjoying some 17 kilometres of coastline, with wide sandy beaches and warm, shallow water that is ideal for swimming.

Nature plays a big part on holidays to Maspalomas, with dolphin- and whale-watching among the standout excursions on offer, giving you the chance to marvel at these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

Elsewhere, Playa del Ingles (Englishman’s Beach) is a popular spot, just a short walk east from Maspalomas (and cheap taxi ride on the way back), known for its lively pub and fun nightclub scene. There’s plenty in and around Maspalomas to keep everyone happy.
