Hotel Riu Palace Meloneras

"What a lovely place to stay, it’s a wow from when you walk into reception, staff are so polite and nothing is too much trouble. Food selection is pretty good and there’s something there for everyone, even sirloin steak. We didn’t bother with the other restaurants but we did eat out one night. Pool area is spotless and the waiters come to you for you to order and they bring the drinks or food out to you where it gets charged to your room. I would definitely upgrade the room which we have done for next year as the rooms in the main hotel near the restaurant don’t haves great outlook especially at the lower level , the rooms are pretty big and bathrooms have plenty of space and the bathroom robes are nice and thick. There’s four pools and are a good temperature and plenty of sunbeds and yes you do get the ones at seven in the morning saving them but there’s plenty there throughout the day, the infinity pool is the best outlook and close to the snack bar. The entertainment wasn’t bad there was a couple of dodgy nights but more better then bad. There’s a nice walk down to the lighthouse where all the named shops are and plenty of places to eat. We loved our stay and rebooked on our second day here it’s that good, the only gripe would be the spa, there’s two big jacuzzi’s but separate steam rooms one in each changing room and talking of those all doors are wide open so anyone could walk in while you’re getting changed, a bit dangerous I’m my eyes, enjoy your stay you’ll love it."

"The hotel is beautiful. Pleasant setting. We are coming here for the 3rd time. But the service has gradually deteriorated. Difficult to make oneself understood. Even though we speak English quite well and everything usually goes well in other RIUs. Many staff members seem tired or indolent. With the notable exception of the team (men and women) in charge of the main restaurant service: full of energy and good humor. Bravo to them. On the other hand, poor reception at the entrance of the same restaurant, probably by "supervisors/managers" who gave the impression of being annoyed. Tired service also on the side of the adults-only pool and the 2 nearby restaurants. Summary: a shame for such a beautiful establishment and due to a certain lack of care. Following our stay after an excellent week at the Riu Maspalomas, which was very well maintained, we are a little disappointed this time by RIU."

"We were in a RIU hotel for the first time, and we can 100% recommend this hotel. Very nice hotel, super grounds, with 4 beautiful pools, very good food, I wouldn't know what could have been missing. Very friendly staff, you could tell that many regular guests come back every year. Very clean.. We liked it so much. The only thing that was not so good was the reserving of loungers with towels in the morning.. But we always found 2 loungers at any time of day.. But that is a problem in every hotel.. A big thank you to the super nice staff. I recommended your hotel to my neighbors who live to the left and right of us.. Then it turned out they had also already been to your place and were likewise very satisfied."
