NH Imperial Playa

"Excellent hotel, all the staff very friendly and the views from the dining room and our room overlooking the promenade and beach couldn’t be bettered"

"Upon arrival and checking in I asked if two rooms would be available that are next door to each other because I am traveling with my wife and my mother. She is over 70 years old and disabled, I got told that we could have two rooms on the same floor but they can’t accommodate for two rooms next to each other even though I booked 2 months prior. I also asked if any rooms are available on the beach side of the hotel and when I booked with NH Imperial playas all of the photos advertised online show you a “beachfront” room looking over the beach. I was then told to get a room with a view over the beach it is an additional €25 per evening so another €350 extra for both the rooms on the beachfront side of the hotel. So I accepted two rooms apart from each other since they could not accommodate for two rooms together, I’ve been out in a small hotel room around the side of the building that is filthy and also looking out on a block of apartments that have seen better days. There is thick layers of dirt on the balcony so I would recommend not touching it either. Overall review - This hotel is on the bar with a 3 star hotel and needs a good clean before charging 4/5 star money to stay here. If you’re looking to stay in Las Palmas, Gran Caneria I would highly recommend to go somewhere else. We are staying here for 7 nights in a room only booking and it cost £1,856 in total. "The hotel has a good location in Las Palmas, Playa de Canteras. It is a recently renovated and clean hotel. In the near vicinity, there are many cafes, restaurants, bars, shops and markets. My husband and I chose this hotel for our anniversary. Although we booked a standard room, the staff in the reception offered us an upgrade. That was pleased us by considering our 6th Anniversary and an unexpected knee injury of my husband. On the anniversary day, our friends in the reception cheered us up once more by their nice gifts in our room. The hotel has one large restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The food and beverages are delicious and nicely served. In terms of beach facilities, the hotel offers beach towels to use at the public beach in front of the hotel ( Playa de Canteras). Especially in the afternoon, the sea has many seaweeds and algae. However, the water is clean and nice. In the reception area, you might find cool water and some candies welcoming you. If my husband and I wish to visit to Gran Canaria in the near future, the NH Imperial Playa will be our first choice."
