"I’m currently sitting on the plane waiting to fly home, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to write a quick review while everything is still fresh in my mind.
I have to admit, I was a little nervous about this hotel after reading a couple of reviews, but I needn’t have worried. This is a fabulous hotel, in an amazing location next to a beautiful beach, and we couldn’t have asked for a better holiday.
Location
Situated in the south of the island, the hotel is around a 1–2 hour transfer from the airport. The hotel is directly opposite the beach, with a promenade running alongside it, which is perfect for those much-needed evening walks or morning runs.
It’s fair to say there are very few British tourists at the hotel or in the resort. Most of the staff and locals speak German as their second language, largely due to the number of German tourists who visit the area.
The beach is amazing beautiful sand and incredibly clear water, which is perfect for swimming. The beach is also used by nudists, although during the two days we spent on the beach, we only saw a handful of men, so it certainly didn’t affect our experience.
Cleanliness & Rooms
The hotel is immaculately clean. The rooms and all communal areas are maintained to a very high standard.
The décor is mainly oak wood, which some people might consider slightly dated, but everything is clean, well maintained and, personally, I really liked the look.
We had a family room with a pool view. My daughter had a two-seater sofa bed which converted into a small double — absolutely brilliant and much more comfortable than I expected.
Staff- The staff are friendly and helpful. As mentioned, English is effectively the third language, but we had no problems communicating.
I’ve read some reviews describing the staff as rude, but that certainly wasn’t our experience. We found everyone to be pleasant and accommodating.
Dining
If, like me, you’re used to traditional All Inclusive hotels with wristbands, buffet-style lunches and dinners, then the dining experience here is completely different.
The hotel is relatively small compared with many other All Inclusive resorts, and the dining experience is much more like being in a restaurant, tablecloths, napkins and waiter service for drinks.
If you’re expecting a busy, hustle-and-bustle All Inclusive environment, you won’t find that here. Personally, I really enjoyed the more relaxed approach.
Breakfast- Breakfast has everything you would expect continental options, pastries and a full cooked breakfast.
Lunch- Lunch is served in the snack bar. With All Inclusive, you have a menu of around 28 different dishes, ranging from tapas, burgers, pasta and fish dishes, along with a salad bar. You can order as many dishes as you like, but again, it feels much more like eating in a restaurant rather than queuing at a pool bar for a buffet.
Dinner- Dinner has the usual salad and dessert bars, while the hot food options change each evening. There is always a fish selection, including prawns, salmon, tuna, swordfish and more. There are also plenty of options for children, including pizza, chips and pasta, alongside different hot dishes each night. We stayed for nine nights and genuinely had something different to eat every day. The food is amazing!
I’m not sure I can go back to the old-school All Inclusive experience after this! 😂
Pool & Entertainment-
The pool area is generally very quiet, which I can only assume is because guests split their time between the hotel and the beach. There isn’t an entertainment team, so the pool area is lovely and relaxing exactly what we wanted. The evening entertainment is slightly hit and miss. They have guest musicians and dancers come in, but there isn’t any dedicated children’s entertainment.
Facilities & Final Day
We absolutely loved this hotel. Even on our final day, when we weren’t due to leave until 17:30, the hotel allowed us to keep our room until we left at no extra charge. That was a fantastic touch and made the final day so much more enjoyable.
I didn’t personally use the spa, but my wife did and said it was really nice, with some good equipment.
The hotel only has one bar, which can occasionally mean a bit of a wait, but the drinks selection is good. They use well known international brands rather than local brands.
Overall
We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be looking to return. Hopefully this review helps anyone else who might be considering staying here."
