"I would rate this hotel a decent 3.5/5. It is a good hotel overall and there’s lots of positives. The reception staff are fantastic, super helpful and friendly. The house keeping and ground maintenance staff are lovely. The pool area is really clean and the interiors of the rooms and communal areas are modern and spacious. They have turtles on the ground floor which are so fun to watch. However, there are some issues.
The sun bed reservation situation is one of the worst of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. If you’re not down there by 8am, you will not find a sun bed. The lifeguarding staff are bizarre, they have no identifiable role save for placing wooden warning blocks indiscriminately on sun beds. On our last day, I came down at 7am to make the most of the time left before our flight. After going to grab a drink for less than 15 minutes at 9am (and having been sat in the lifeguard areas line of sight for 2 hours!) one of their ‘don’t reserve sun beds’ blocks had been put on my sun lounger. I understand they want to make an example of people but I was clearly using the sun bed - my book was even left open. The male lifeguard then spent the remainder of the day staring me down as if I were a criminal, which left me feeling very unsettled and ruined the end of my stay. The lifeguards place the blocks randomly on any sun bed without someone sat there in that moment, no thought or common sense at all. No idea what purpose the blocks are meant to serve in any event as they are simply moved or thrown on the floor by most guests. They need to find a workable procedure to address the issue as they know it’s a big problem but the blocks are not a good solution. Perhaps simply increase the number of sun beds available? One positive about the sun beds is that they all have umbrellas/ parasols which is rare in the canaries and was nice to have.
The food is not bad. There’s quite a few vegetarian options which is a huge improvement from when I visited a H10 in Lanzarote in 2021 (where there was nothing at all). Although, the restaurant is very small and save for the pizza restaurant (which you get once per weekly stay) and the snack bar, options are limited. The chefs/ serving staff are very pleasant in the restaurant. The bar and waiting staff are not the best but they are rushed off their feet. Getting a drink during dinner is hard work - we waited on occasions over 15 minutes just to get a coke or water. Some of the bar staff in the snack bar are also pretty rude, probably owing to being so so busy. I was pregnant during my visit and wanted to double check a cocktail didn’t contain alcohol, the staff in the snack bar made me feel like an inconvenience to them.
Like all H10s, they charge you for a lot. The safe is €18 and towel changes are charged. The coffee bar is not included, advertised as if it is but is also separately charged for.
Evening entertainment is poor/ non existent and whilst that didn’t bother me, it’s something to consider if you like entertainment.
Overall, this is not a bad hotel but if you’ve been used to some of the bigger H10s or big RUIs, you’ll be disappointed. I would recommend it if you like a smaller hotel but be prepared for sun bed gate every morning and a real mixed bag on the service. I did raise these issues during my stay but I saw no improvement or change."
