"Firstly all the staff are friendly and helpful. If you have an issue it's resolved quickly. The apartment particularly upstairs was far duller and shabbier than the photos depicted. There was considerable noise from all adjoining apartments, the walls are so thin it sounds as if someone is inside your apartment at times and is quite unnerving! The 18 steps to the bedrooms are extremely steep, made of metal with wooden treads so extremely clunky and not suitable for those with mobility issues. The worse part is as you exit the bathroom there is nothing to stop you accidentally falling down these stairs as the top step is directly to the side of the bathroom door! This is such a fall hazard and needs a metal gate or similar to reduce the risk! There was mould in the bathroom, it was generally dull and shabby, the towel rack was covered in rust, it had grubby grout, a chipped bath and the built in bath mat was yellow! There was a large circle of filler in the main bedroom door that had not been painted over which looked awful. The pictures in the bedroom had chipped frames, the usb sockets on the headboard didn't work. There were only 2 plug sockets in the entire bedroom, one behind the bed in a very narrow passage set up as a place to dry your hair if you could fit in the space and another socket opposite the bed. No air con just an old yellow-looking ceiling fan. The curtain were coming off the tracks in both bedrooms, overall it just did not look like the rooms advertised. Downstairs was tidier but the large bed that was there instead of a sofa was extremely uncomfortable due to being hard and of poor design. There was only one chair and a wooden stool to sit at the dining table and again it was very uncomfortable. It seems that whoever designed the place tried to go for modern trendy furniture but it just wasn't functional. The worse part for us was the outside, the patio area was very grubby, there was zero privacy from adjoining apartments and was located on a residential street with flats opposite. To one end of these flats and just opposite our apartment was a piece of wasteland strewn with plastic barriers, litter, old nappies and animal faeces, just really horrible! The pool and bar area were nice but the beds were too low to get up from easily. Snacks ordered from the bar were tasty but quite expensive as were drinks and ice-creams. All the bar and reception staff were friendly and helpful. The apartments facing into the complex seemed to be far better maintained in terms of painting and cleanliness than the ones on the street. We were not provided with any cleaning service at all during our week's stay and had to pay 4 euros per person for additional clean towels as these are not replaced for the whole week, this is something I have never come across before, I think it's extremely poor service and unhygienic, self catering accommodation or not! The journey into the old town and the Music Square beyond only took about qtr of an hour but the walk was really awful. Most of the streets, footpaths and roads were dirty, full of rubbish that was dumped next to the dustbins, broken footpaths and roads, at times buildings looked derelict, certainly not a location you'd expect to be on holiday. Despite all this we had a pleasant holiday but we would not return to these apartments given the overall quality of the accomodation, location and street access. I am a little surprised at both the star rating and Trip Advisor ratings for this accommodation. We booked based on these ratings along with what turned out to be misleading photographs of the accomodation and feel it's not representative of the actual apartment complex."
