Stay at the Sol Don Pedro and you get three hotels in one. Guests here can use the facilities in the rest of the Sol Torremolinos Resort, which means the neighbouring Sol Don Marco and Sol Don Pablo are open for business, as well. All have an enviable setting on the beachfront, just a short stroll from the lively restaurants and bars the resort is famous for.
The hotel is smart and contemporary with a nod to traditional Spanish style. Think whitewashed blocks spread among tropical grounds peppered with palm trees. At the centre of it all you’ll find three swimming pools; one is dedicated to little ones. And when they’re not splashing around here, they can play games and get sticky with arts and crafts at the kids’ club.
Poolside bathing aside, there’s lots going on. Daytime activities include basketball, tennis and yoga, plus water-based offerings like waterpolo and aqua aerobics. It doesn’t slow down when the sun dips, either, with shows, live music and family games and quizzes on the cards.
Breakfast and dinner is served in the Castilla restaurant, which specialises in buffet dishes inspired by cuisines from around the world. For lunch, you can head for Bar Romano – an arm’s length from the pool – or head into town to feast on authentic local specialities like paella and tapas.
