"Booked though on the beach. I was choosing between two options a - Classic Room Ground Floor or Meliá Room Sea View, so went for the sea view, it stated it would be from 1st to 4th floor , we were placed on the first floor with the sea view but I'm so confused where the ground floor rooms are..they seemed non existent?
Anyways, the rooms didn't look exactly as pictured in the photo but that's okay, what I didn't like about the place were the doors , they were really loud and hard to shut or open, not sure if this was my room only but I could constantly hear people going in and out at night time so not really as pleasant as I was expecting, shame is I don't think this would of improved if I upgraded so never even bothered with a room upgrade.
There was construction going on but this was mentioned on the website so not a biggie , they only began working at 8am so reasonable in my eyes. I was confused on one thing , I had booked half board as my food option, so we were going to breakfast and dinner, at dinner we had to pay extra for our drinks every day.. I was under the impression this was included in the price but it is what it is now, although juice and champagne at breakfast was for free. Another thing the heating element in the room seemed non existent, I think we only had the ac working on 3 ,, reception staff , it was hit and miss really, we had a lovely lady check us in and another lovely lady check us out of the hotel but we had a query about a spa cancellation we had made and she really dismissed us, we booked the spa at 6 but we're heading out and didn't know if we would make it back , so went to the reception to ask if we could cancel the reservation around 3pm, she told us that we have to cancel through the spa which is only open from 4pm ... I knew this hence why I went to the reception to ask if they could solve this for us but was told we need to sort this out directly with the spa... I had to then ask if there's a way around this which just felt like she could of just gave us the spa number directly so we could solve this but yeah just seemed like a horrible interaction. In the end we ended up going to the spa anyway but it just left a not so nice impression. The spa pool was nice and warm, the saunas are set at 70 degrees , the steam room was there but really not as steamy as a steam room should be , I could see the person next to me , we basically stayed in the pool for the 45 min which seemed very short for 20 euros pp. I mean the highlight was the buffet really ! Food was spectacular ! And the staff at dinner were always on it , thank you for your hard work! Dinner Obviously lovely, Apart from the additional drinks charge at dinner. The roof top pool and beds were amazing too , you could get drinks there too which was a nice touch if your simply relaxing, of course there were VIP beds that you can rent for €20/30 euros but I never seen anyone use them. Rooftop pool was cool and very refreshing , not a lot of people using it to be honest . Overall the hotel left me with an impression of charging extra for what ever they could but that's just my opinion"
