La Barracuda

"Currently staying at the Barracuda on half board basis. My room has the most amazing view over the pool, sea & marina. The food, as many mention is repetitive but there is always something for everyone and topped up regularly. And I found the hot food always hot! For a 3* hotel it is great value. Some reviews mention noise from the rooftop bar, but it didn’t affect my room on the 8th floor (very near the bar) I couldn’t hear a thing once my balcony door was closed. The garden bar however was very loud (pub type singers mostly) but this stopped at 11pm."

"We recently spent a week on a bed-and-breakfast basis at Hotel La Barracuda. Overall we were happy with the cleanliness and comfort of the room, and the staff were nice, friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was buffet-style, with the usual selection of food, and we also enjoyed the bar snacks and drinks. Unfortunately, our stay was spoilt to a considerable extent by the noise from the rooftop bar, where loud, booming music continued until around 12.30 am every night. I have difficulty getting to sleep, and the constant bass-heavy music made this particularly difficult. We had booked several day-trip excursions during our holiday, which meant early starts and long tiring days. At the end of these days, we really needed peace, quiet and, above all, a good night’s sleep. I had considered asking to be moved to another room, but my husband didn’t want to make a fuss. In hindsight, I wish we had raised the issue, as lack of sleep had a real impact on our enjoyment of the holiday. It is certainly a mistake I won’t make again. The hotel has several positive points, particularly its friendly staff, clean rooms, and enjoyable bar refreshments. However, I feel that guests should be made aware of the potential noise from the rooftop bar especially those allocated rooms on the upper floors. My advice to anyone booking a stay here would be to request a room away from the rooftop bar. A comfortable room and friendly service are important, but a peaceful night’s sleep is equally essential when you are on holiday."
