"We were very much looking forward to our stay at the Palacio Solicio Small Luxury Hotel of the World in Málaga, but were unfortunately disappointed in several respects. Especially for a hotel in this price category and with this claim to luxury and service, we would have expected significantly more. We had already informed the hotel in advance that we would be celebrating our wedding anniversary during our stay. Of course, we are aware that a hotel is not obligated to prepare a special gesture for such an occasion. Nevertheless, we would have at least appreciated a brief congratulation. In our previous experiences with hotels of this category, it was quite common for such an occasion to be acknowledged with a small gesture – be it through a room upgrade, a bottle of sparkling wine, or another amenity in the room. However, there was no reaction here at all. We personally found that very unfortunate, especially because we had explicitly communicated the occasion in advance. In addition, we would have liked to have a room in the main building. However, we were not aware before our arrival that there is a separate annex building in addition to the main building. Our room was ultimately located there. Even though we understand that not every room request can be guaranteed, we would have appreciated being informed about this in advance. As a result, the disappointment upon our arrival was correspondingly great. However, the housekeeping service was particularly disappointing. We stayed at the hotel for a total of two nights. On the second day, we were out and about in Málaga for the entire morning and almost the whole day, and we were only in the room for about an hour at noon. Nevertheless, our room was not cleaned at all that day. The used coffee dishes from the morning were still there, there were no fresh towels, and overall, the room was apparently simply forgotten. For a hotel in this price range, this is absolutely unacceptable. After we addressed the issue that same day, we were indeed brought fresh towels and clean dishes. However, the actual problem and, above all, the disappointing impression remained. We brought up this experience again when checking out. Unfortunately, the way our complaint was handled was also anything but satisfactory. Instead of a sincere apology or at least an effort to improve the situation after the fact, the employee at the front desk was extremely snappy with us. This was precisely where the hotel still had the opportunity to make up for some of the disappointment with a professional and empathetic approach. Unfortunately, this chance was also missed. Our conclusion: A hotel of this category should not only impress with its amenities and its name, but above all with attentive service, reliability, and professional treatment of guests. That is exactly what we unfortunately missed during our stay. It is not about us expecting special gifts or perks. It is about appreciation, basic service, and appropriate handling of justified criticism. We had been looking forward to a special stay for our wedding anniversary and ultimately left disappointed. For a property that claims to be a Small Luxury Hotel of the World, we had expected significantly more."

"The building, the decor, and the service in general are spectacular. The best thing without a doubt is the professionalism of the employees from the front desk, the parking service, and the attention at the à la carte breakfast, which is very, very good. Absolutely recommended"
