3 days stay at Molina Lario (Thurs night to Sunday)
Location: great! Central and walking access to the beach (10mins), the cathedral (1 min), the castle (15mins), shopping (2mins), main square (5mins), port (2mins) , Picasso museum (5mins).
Situated between the mountains and the sea, this location is 5 star. No need for taxis or buses. You can get a taxi from airport (10mins) it should cost no more than 25-30€. The hotel can arrange a taxi when you depart. Beautiful parks and walkways nearby. Great if you fancy a run in the morning.
Atmosphere is cool and arty. There are art ‘coffee table’ books in the room and our room was gorgeous. Lemon water is available in the lobby.
Amenities- no need for shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, hairdryer as it is all there. Also included are slippers and dressing gown.
You can hear no sound in the room (we were in 316) as the balcony has double glass.
There’s a mini bar and you can order room service but we took the drinks out of the fridge and used it to store our water. The roof top pool is gorgeous for a quick dip (it is small but good for cooling off). If you want a couch get there midday at a weekend and in the evenings it is very busy as people come from all over the city for the rooftop bar.
Breakfast is €26 each (unless included) and extensive. We didn’t eat there as there are plenty of bakeries with delicious items for €3.
Staff are extremely polite and attentive. They always say good morning and hello. Rooms are clean and can be tidied every day with fresh towels if you wish.
Roof top bar - nachos are delicious! Cocktails are about €18 for 2.
Recommendations nearby: magic juice, casa carmen - salads and service are amazing. Picasso museum is €13 but worth it. The cathedral is €10, the castle is €12 but a nice walk up (although bring your trainers - it is steep!) Breakfast - there is a bakery in the main square (beautiful fountain too) which does coffees, pastries, croissants, cakes etc.
All in all a great trip!"
