Protur Roquetas Hotel & Spa

"We arrived yesterday at the hotel and we were very impressed with the reception area and check in. Our room is perfect and has a good view towards the sea. The staff team are very friendly. HOWEVER.... we were enjoying a drink at the bar last night and before the bar closed we were asked to put our drinks into paper cups. This is something that I have never experienced and would not expect from a five star hotel. In addition we are staying for three nights. This meant that we were not allowed to go to one of their a la carte restaurants. As it is my partners birthday we asked if we could pay an extra amount to go to the Asian restaurant. We were told that this was not possible as we were only staying three nights. This was disappointing as the food in the buffet restaurant is only average. On the whole we would recommend the hotel if you can forgive these snags."

"This hotel is one of my favourites and is always good for a safe and value for money holiday. The hotel is spotless, well run and has amazing staff which made the holiday. I first came here in 2013 and still enjoy my holidays. The location in the middle of Roquetas de Mar and has access straight to the beach. It is a slower pace of life and there is no rowdy bars or loud music. The food in the hotel is fresh and delicious and plentiful and should meet the requirements of most people. My only observation is that breakfast could have been a bit hotter. The salads at lunchtime were amazing. Food off the grill, meat and fish was great and a good variety. The room we had was spotless, spacious and quiet with a view of the beach and the pool. The bed was really comfortable and we slept well. The staff are engaging and go out of their way to help. Reception staff all speak English and really help you. The hotel needs an update in furniture and decor, but nothing else."

"It is the fourth time we go to this hotel and we do it because in terms of value for money it is very competitive. In fact, you can get an elite jacuzzi suite for practically the price of a normal one in other hotels on the Costa de la Luz. The staff in general is good, but I miss service details that a 5-star hotel should have, especially regarding drinks. Every time you ordered, they served you in different glasses and none of them were the correct one. Also, a 5-star hotel should have table service at least at night. Although we will keep going because I have grown fond of it and we are very comfortable, much to my regret I must say that I have noticed a certain deterioration each year. The staff in general is friendly and helpful. Regards"
