"We have just returned from an incredibly enjoyable 5-night stay at this lovely hotel. We stayed in a high-floor sea-view room on the side facing the new construction. However, unlike some earlier-season guests, we were not affected by any noise, as the building works appeared to have stopped during the busy summer months.
We especially enjoyed our mornings on the large balcony, which was equipped with two comfortable chairs, a coffee table, and a drying rack—very handy after a day at the beach. The room itself was a good size, nicely decorated, with plenty of storage space and a very comfortable extra-large bed. There was a large TV with British channels, so we were able to watch the football World Cup and Wimbledon in the evenings.
The room also included a mini fridge and a kettle with glasses and cups. The bathroom was spacious and modern, with an excellent shower, a magnifying mirror, and a hairdryer. (There is no dressing table or mirror in the main room, so hair styling is done in the bathroom.) The hotel provided shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, a soap bar, and a vanity kit. We only used their shower gel, which had a lovely herbal scent, similar to more expensive brands, and all toiletries were labelled as paraben-free.
Bath towels were new, soft, and replaced daily. Hand towels, however, were sometimes a bit worn. There is a safe in the room, available at an extra cost (€25 per week, with a daily rate also available). A €10 deposit is required for the key, which is refunded at checkout. Beach towels are also available (likely with a deposit), though we used our own.
The central air conditioning just about managed to cool the room and might struggle in temperatures above the high 30s. During our stay, the weather was a pleasant 30°C, so it was adequate. We were very pleased that there were no mosquitoes at all, which often affect my husband.
The room was cleaned thoroughly every day, although we would have preferred earlier housekeeping rather than late afternoon service. On a few occasions, we returned for a rest but had to leave again because the room had not yet been serviced, which was quite annoying.
There are two lifts in the hotel, both reliable, although one is quite small. The reception and all staff were consistently polite and seemed genuinely happy, which was lovely to see. On arrival, we were welcomed with a complimentary glass of cold bubbly—very refreshing on a hot day—and on departure, we received a small bag of marshmallows each, which was a charming touch.
The highlight of our stay was definitely the food and the beach. We opted for half board and found it perfectly sufficient. Breakfast was largely the same each day, but the variety was excellent, allowing for different choices daily. There was a live cooking station for omelettes, eggs, toasties, pancakes, and occasionally churros, as well as traditional English breakfast items, a great selection of pastries and breads, salads, cheeses, cold meats, delicious Spanish ham, cereals, fruits, and more. There was also a small gluten-free section and Italian coffee machines with Illy capsules (Intense and Decaf), which was a nice upgrade from standard coffee machines. A glass (or few 😉) of cava was also available each morning.
Dinner was a real highlight, with a different theme most nights (our favourite being Asian). Again, there were live cooking stations and a wide variety of meat, fish, vegetarian dishes, and salads. Each evening featured a different soup, and almost every night the gazpacho, which was particularly excellent. The desserts and fruit selection were very good, with fresh cakes every night. There was also an ice cream freezer, although we didn’t try it. Overall, the quality of ingredients was consistently excellent.
Hygiene in the restaurant appeared to be of a high standard, with tablecloths changed after each guest. Although it is a buffet (with shared serving utensils), we had no issues and comfortably enjoyed fresh salads and uncooked foods.
Drink prices were very reasonable—for example, €3.10 for a small bottle of Estrella Galicia beer or €2.80 for a latte macchiato at the bar. The beach bar was also very pleasant, with live music on some afternoons.
We didn’t use the hotel pool, as we prefer the sea. There were a reasonable number of loungers, although many were in full sun without parasols. This didn’t matter to us, as we spent most of our time on the beach.
The beach is long, wide, and beautiful, with direct access from the hotel (just across a promenade). It is public but never felt crowded due to its size. Sun loungers and parasols can be hired (we believe around €8 each). The sea temperature was a very pleasant 27°C, and we spent a lot of time swimming.
However, there are often strong waves and no shallow areas, which may make it less suitable for small children or non-swimmers. On rough days, some debris was brought in by the waves, although on calm days the water was clear and lovely turquoise colour. Lifeguards are present.
There are also beach vendors and masseuses, which some may find intrusive. We tried massages on three occasions (€10 for 15 minutes), and they were very good—deep tissue and quite vigorous. The masseuses appeared clean and professional.
We did hear of some thefts from unattended beach bags, so it’s wise not to leave valuables unattended. We personally had no issues.
In the evenings, we enjoyed walking along the promenade and browsing the nearby shops. The hotel location is excellent—right in the heart of the entertainment area—yet our room remained quiet.
Access to the promenade involves crossing a road and railway line via a pedestrian bridge, which is not particularly attractive and may be inconvenient, especially with luggage. Access for transfer coaches is also restricted, requiring a short walk to a nearby stop across the road.
We didn’t use the spa or gym (which is small and basic), nor the evening entertainment, as we preferred relaxing walks and early nights after active days.
Overall, we were very impressed with the hotel and have already recommended it to friends and family. We would happily return, as it offers excellent service and great value for money."
