"We stayed here a week as a couple. We stayed in room 211 which had a sea view which was a pleasant surprise and it was absolutely fantastic to see the sunrise and just chill on the balcony in the evenings.
The balcony was a decent size but there were some black cigarette marks and burn marks on the sofa outside. There was a smell of smoke in the room when we entered after check in which meant we had to keep the balcony door open for some time the first couple of days to air out the room.
The room was a smaller end room but that was fine. The bathroom was a good size, lovely shower, albeit there is an issue with the seal around the door which meant water would soak the bath mat outside the shower after usage.
The walls are paper thin so you can hear the room next door coughing. Additionally the hotel next doors entertainment was extremely loud and went on past 11pm several nights. The balcony door did not do much to block this noise. Our room was directly above the entertainment area for the hotel and very close to the entertainment area for the hotel next door.
Our room was made up everyday, however cleaning was average, sometimes the sink wasn’t cleaned at all. Our towels were refreshed everyday, except our second last day but that was fine as we were checking out in the morning.
The biggest issue with this hotel is the dreaded sunbed wars. On our first morning we arrived at the pool at 09:00 and there were no people at the pool but every single sun bed had been taken. we went to reception to ask if there was a policy about reserving sunbeds to which i was told by the woman on reception there was no policy, and if we wanted a sunbed other guests often got up at 07:00 to reserve these. This was a disappointing response from the hotel. We come to find out a few days later that the hotel does have a ‘policy’ about reserving sunbeds in the form of signs by the pool asking guests not to and laminated cards ‘FORBIDDEN TO RESERVE SUNBEDS TOWELS WILL BE REMOVED’. This is very much not enforced by any staff at the hotel. Due to this we spent all but one day at the beach where we spent €12 for an umbrella and 2 sunbeds. The day we did go to the pool, we got 2 of the last sunbeds at 08:00. The hotel would be better having no policy about the sunbed reservations rather than empty threats towards guests who simply do not care if they reserve a sunbed for 5 hours before coming to use it.
The beach is lovely, however, and we enjoyed our time there. The beach bar is really nice and the food is good for lunch. Staff at the beach bar were friendly and attentive.
The hotel has a spa which was lovely and we enjoyed utilising the facilities there including the jacuzzi and the sauna and steam rooms.
We only paid for breakfast which was good. There is a big variety to choose from.
Staff at the hotel seem disinterested and a bit fed up. We never got a good morning at breakfast and felt at times to be an inconvenience. The young guys on reception were helpful and felt approachable.
Overall we would not stay here again, on the basis of the noise issues and poolside reservations. It’s a shame because the location is really great, the hotel is lovely, and right next to the beach."
