"👍 What I Liked: • The hotel grounds were clean and well-maintained. • The food was consistently good, with a decent variety and fresh ingredients. • The TV offered a number of English channels, which was a nice touch for international guests. • The beach itself was great—clean, spacious, and lively. It even came with some added entertainment courtesy of the “looky looky” men, which added a quirky charm to the experience. 👎 What Needs Improvement: Location Issues: The hotel is situated less than 20 meters from a mainline train track, which is highly visible from the swimming pool area and can be disruptive. Access to the beach is only possible via an underground subway tunnel, which may not be ideal for everyone. The surrounding aera is overpopulated with souvenir shops, most of which sell identical items. There’s also a noticeable lack of daytime entertainment, which makes the area feel a bit dull during the day. Misleading Wi-Fi Access: The hotel advertises free Wi-Fi, but this is only available in a limited area near the bar. If you want access in your room, you’ll need to pay extra—per device. This falls far short of the “premier service” the hotel claims to offer. Excessive Charges: The hotel operates on a pricing model that feels similar to budget airlines—everything comes with an extra fee: • Safe box rental was €25 for 7 days, whereas other hotels I’ve stayed at offered this for free or at a lower cost (e.g., €15 in Benidorm). • Fridge access in the room came with an additional charge—something I’ve never encountered before. • Even hairdryers and extra pillows were not included unless paid for. These hidden costs made the stay feel less budget-friendly than advertised. In hindsight, it might be more cost-effective to book a higher-end hotel where these amenities are included upfront. Please note depending on what website you are looking on these are shown as features in the room Very early check out The hotel operates a very early check out policay of 10AM the earliest I have expreciced in other hotel is 11am Overall Verdict: While the hotel has its strengths in cleanliness, food quality, and beach access, the combination of location drawbacks, misleading service claims, and excessive charges made the experience less enjoyable. I’d recommend this hotel only if you're fully aware of the extra costs and are okay with the limited daytime entertainment options in the area"

"Hotel was great staff were great ,food was great ,had the best stay and as a solo traveler was made to feel safe ,will defo go again .even rang to make sure id got my transfer saftely .staff always happy to help."

"This was a last minute booking however from the hotel information online, we felt it was perfect for a quick getaway.... Firstly, when we arrived our patio door wouldn't lock. We notified the night receptionist who came up to the room and spent about 10 mins fighting with the door. He was getting frustrated with the door and with me as I told him that if it took this much to try and lock it that I wouldn't accept that. He continued to open and slam the door and fiddle with the lock in what became something like an episode of faulty towers! There was no fridge, hair dryer or wifi in the rooms despite the online description stating there were. A mini fridge can be hired at €5 a day plus €10 deposit. Wifi is €5 per day! Some of the photos online are of a sister hotel about a 8 min walk down the road and not the Hotel Raymar Playa. The bathroom was very run down! The shower doors and trays had black mould around the seals and showed damaged and age. The shower tray fills up and overflows flooding the bathroom! There is air con but because the sun beats down all day on the double patio doors, even with the curtains closed, the air con just cant compete and the room is uncomfortable! The rooms look old and tired, however the bed is so comfortable and the pillows are amazing! The rooms are cleaned daily and the housekeeping staff are wonderful, friendly and so helpful! The hotel is spotless so despite it looking old, tired and worn down, its clean! Breakfast was a little chaotic! You wait in a line outside the dining room until a table becomes free. There was alot of food, but the quality of breakfast was not the best. There was always egg (boiled, scrambled or fried on different days) and toast and cereal so you wont go hungry! Dinner was very mixed! One day is was good, the next it really disappointed. The burger baps felt like they were hard plastic, and then hams and cooked meats sat under the heat lights so long that they looks a little grey and slimy! Drinks in the dinning room are expensive, €3.50ish for 350ml of fanta/coke! The dining room is noisy and old fashioned, and staff walk around with trolleys clearing tables as they empty scrapping food and clattering plates and cutlery beside you. The majority of the staff were lovely! Especially the female reception ladies! Such great customer service. The older male who was impersonating Basil Faulty maintained a little dictator persona the whole time we were there sadly! The pool area was nice, the pool was clean and every morning the housekeeping staff are round cleaning the floors, chairs and screens. There are plenty of sunbeds however in the peak of summer you may have a hard time getting one. The nighttime entertainment was not great! We ended up leaving each night and going elsewhere for some entertainment. We did book this last minute and we did get a good price, however I feel the photos and description online are not accurate of this hotel and leave disappointment!"
