"These apartments are by far the best self catering I have stayed in. Came to Malgrat de Mar last year and stayed in a hotel on the front which we did not enjoy. The Iris is perfectly located at the start of old town with a spar right next door, the beach a couple of yards away. Apartments are modern, clean, roomy and very comfortable with great WiFi provided as well as air-conditioning, a safe is provided for a small payment It's a one bed apartment with a pull out sofa in the living area but as there were only 2 of us we didn't need it. The beds were really comfortable, bedding and towels really clean and extra provided in wardrobe which was a full proper wardrobe The only thing missing was a full length mirror and the balcony fell a little unsafe, tho my partner assured me the slope was nothing to worry about. Definitely well worth money which wasn't a lot and definitely well worth a stay - the people who own it and run it are so so lovely, you will not regret a stay here, will definitely return"

"very clean apartment with 1 bedroom and sofa bed in living room. We also had a second bedroom with no window but we didnt need it for sleeping. My 3 kids ages 9,7,3 slept in the sofa bed and there was plenty of space for them. The kitchen is well equipped but we chose to eat only breakfast there. Towels changed daily and apartment cleaned daily. Hector and Conxi were friendly and helpful to us. There is an air con unit in living room and in the bedroom. The balconies are small but will fit a chair and they have a clothes drying line. My only fault and hence 4 stars- the rooms can be noisy and you can hear taps, showers being turned on in the next apartment. The beach is 100m away but we chose to walk down to the beach area which has the aqua park as the sand was better there for the kids and there was less of an incline getting into the water. The sand is gritty and not good for making sandcastles. The water gets deep quite quickly so be careful. The aquapark (inflatables) were great fun and cheaper if you book online using the flyer in reception of Aparthotel. We liked Aruba restaurant at the beach for price and quality of food. Overall, a lovely 4 day break in Malgrat De Mar."

"Was very much looking forward to our stay being aware of the proximity of the accommodation to the beach and to be fair, we felt lucky to have such great views of the beach during our stay. Also the proximity of the accommodation to the amenities was great and we didn't find it too noisy. Having noted the plus sides, there were a couple of things that let it down for us. On arrival (at 3am due to delays) we were unclear how to access the accommodation although we'd been advised that there was a night porter. There was no door bell or instructions of what to do so we called the phone number on the door. It became clear that this was for the person in charge of the apartments although she was not on site, she called the porter who was on site who let us in. He asked for our details which we gave him, then he said that he wanted to keep my passport until the next morning when his boss would formally check us in. I asked if it would be locked away and he showed me that it would be stored under a plastic box under the reception desk. Not securely at all. I refused to leave it with him and eventually after speaking to the manager was able to go to our room. When we checked in with the manager the next morning, she asked for a 50 euro deposit. I was surprised at this as I had fully paid through Travel Republic and there had been no mention of a deposit. Too tired and not wanting to dispute, I gave the deposit with a hand written note at the bottom of an invoice that it would be returned at the end of our stay. The apartments have aircon which is fantastic and they are very clean. It's also great to have your own space to cook and eat. There are two single beds in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge. I pseudo slept on the sofa bed as it was comparable to sleeping on a floor as it was so hard. There was also a large boiler in the same room next to the sink that was very noisy during the night. This broke during our visit which may have explained the noise and the very hot water in the tiny shower. Also noted that the plug for the boiler was unpluggable and very close to the kitchen sink. By UK standards, a health and safety nightmare. All in all, I received my deposit back, I managed to escape from the hot water from the shower and only had a short stay. Its a shame it wasn't great because the proximity and views are great."
