Hotel Rosamar Maritim

"Hotel Rosamar Maritim, Lloret de Mar We booked with Jet2 for 17th–23rd August, staying in Room 202 on a half-board basis. Our room had a sea view and balcony. We arrived at around 12 midday and, to our surprise, our room was already available. That’s a first for us, as usually you have to wait until after 2 p.m. for your room, so that was a good start! The hotel is situated on a very busy roundabout, but the traffic noise wasn’t an issue as the room was well soundproofed. Our room was on the second floor. Although it was very dated, it was clean. There were two separate areas – a bedroom and a kitchen/living area. The bedroom had a comfy double bed with two comfy pillows each, nice clean, crisp bed linen and ample storage space for clothes. As with most hotels, though, there weren’t enough coat hangers, so bring some extra ones if you need them. There was also a dressing table with drawers and a chair, bedside tables with lights and plug sockets either side, and a wall-mounted TV. The only English channel was BBC News. A free safe was also provided. The kitchen/living area had a large sofa, small table with two chairs, a sink and two electric rings. There were no cooking utensils, although I’m guessing these would be available if you booked self-catering. If you like a cuppa during the day, bring your own travel kettle and tea/coffee, although you can hire a kettle from reception for a small fee. The bathroom was a good size, with ample room for toiletries. The shower was over the bath and, although it was angled rather strangely on the wall, it was perfectly adequate and did the job. Toothbrushes and soap were supplied, along with shampoo and body wash attached to the wall in the shower. Towels were changed daily. The air conditioning wasn’t the best during the day, but at night it seemed much cooler, which enabled us to have a comfortable night’s sleep. The balcony had a table and two standard plastic chairs, with a lovely sea view. Food Breakfast was served from 8 a.m. until 10.15 a.m. and the evening meal from 7 p.m. until 9.45 p.m. Now, the food... As stated in many other reviews, unfortunately it wasn’t very warm. Knowing this beforehand, we made sure we were down first thing for both breakfast and the evening meal, hoping that the food would be warmer after just being cooked and that perhaps the previous reviews were from people arriving later, giving the food time to cool down. Sadly, this wasn’t the case. The food was just about warm enough to eat, but I do think this is an issue that should be addressed. If I’m honest, it did spoil our experience slightly. Breakfast consisted of the usual mix of English and Continental options. Let me say, though, the orange juice was amazing! The evening meal varied every night. There was always a meat option, pasta and chips, along with the usual cold meats, cheese, salad and bread. There was also a selection of desserts, including sponge cakes, yoghurts and ice cream. A bonus was the free drinking water. You could also order drinks from the bar and have them brought to your table. The dining area wasn’t particularly big, so I’m guessing that if you come down at a prime time, you might struggle to find a table. It always pays to be early! Location The hotel is in a great location, with plenty of places to eat nearby. You’re spoilt for choice, from typical local cuisine to Greek, Indian and Chinese restaurants – you name it, they’ve got it covered! There are also plenty of souvenir shops dotted in between. The beach, although very long, was absolutely rammed when we were there. The sea was quite choppy on a few occasions, and the waves certainly took your feet from underneath you! There are also a couple of nice scenic walks, although they are very hard on the legs as there are lots of steps to climb. There are two castles, one to the left and one to the right of the hotel. If you attempt these walks, wear sensible shoes, and if you’re not a fan of heights, you might want to give them a miss! Overall Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Rosamar Maritim. The room was clean, the location was excellent and the staff were friendly. The main downside for us was definitely the temperature of the food, which we feel needs addressing. Would we stay here again? Possibly, especially for the friendly staff and it's location, but the food temperature would definitely be something we would consider before booking."

"I would definitely reccomend this hotel for your staying! This hotel is a 4* but with just a little bit of accesories it could be a 5*. Where to begin?  Location: Right across the beach, can't be better. Spot on. From the service itself, staff, food, acommodation – we were really satisfied! We had breakfast and dinner. Everyone could find something to eat although there was plenty of food! All kinds of pastries, cereals, hams, potatoes, milk...every morning they would bake fresh american pancakes, eggs (omlettes and fried eggs), there were boiled eggs too. For dinner you had all kinds of meat (pork, beef, chicken), pasta and etc. They would fry each night a different kind of fish. There were also many sea products (but I don't eat them). They would make chicken for fajita or doner with sauces and wraps. Coffee, juices, cocoa powder in the morning. Rooms were being cleaned everyday, fresh towels, sheets. There is a bar and a pool on the rooftop. Gym, saunas. We went to gym every day. First two days its thermometer wasn't working so it was 39.9ºC in there but when we told a receptionist that she said she would call technical support to fix it. And the next day it was all fixed. Well done! Staff is so polite, very amable . They are really looking to enduldge every wish of their guests. I cannot say a single bad word! From my own experience, I would and will definitely come back here! I felt like home. We stayed for 10 days. I borrowed a book from hotel's bookshelf, they have books in so many different langauges which is so thoughtful! I read Roseland from Judy Finnigan, I absolutely enjoyed. They didn't even check if I had returned it, they have a full trust towards their guests. While we were waiting for our airport transfer, receptionist offered us a card for free drinks of the rooftop bar. So we enjoyed in time what was left in our divine hotel! I would praise all your staff but receptionist girl named Abril is really special! Very polite, speaks so many languages.. if you had asked her something, the next day she would check with you if it had been done! Very resposible! She just has some special spark with people and you (hotel) take good care of her! Many greetings for her from us! I would just suggest some small little details to improve overall experience for a guest while staying in your hotel. I wish in the bathroom where were some wet wipes, big package of dry wipes, some more things for personal hygiene – there were toothbrushes but I didn't see a toothpaste. Maybe some deodorant and etc. To a female guest that MEANS A LOT! I brought those things with me and the stuff I needed more, I bought. It just creates a full experience when you have all those things already in there when you come. For dinner, I know you could order drinks, and it is not a matter of paying them extra but it would have been nice if drinks from the morning (orange, pineapple and apple) were also available at dinner course. I will post pics below of everything I have. But remember, we were on a little diet and eating less sugar, there were many more choices of cakes, sweets and salt dishes than displayed in my pics. I WOULD RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE COMING TO THIS HOTEL! The place itself - Llorer de Mar is very beautiful, we loved it! Thank you for everything. We love you Rosamar Maritim – Kristina & Igor."

"Beautiful location right across from the beach, the quiet end of Lloret. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, air conditioned and serviced daily. The staff are efficient and friendly. The food is very good, the ‘hot food’ was a little lukewarm from the buffet at times, could be a bit hotter, but overall the selection and quality was excellent. The rooftop pool and terrace area is really the crowning glory, a lovely space to relax and sunbathe with a cafe/bar too. Umbrellas and loungers, shower and pool, cafe, stunning g view of the sea and the castle, what more could you need?! Overall a very relaxing stay. In a nice hotel, good location."
