"Terrible experience- I would not recommend this hotel. My girlfriend and I stayed here for four nights, and every night between approximately 3:00 and 5:00 a.m., the air conditioning effectively stopped working. The fan dropped to such a low level that there was almost no airflow, and we repeatedly woke up sweating. Then, at around 5:30 a.m., the AC would suddenly begin working normally again. When I first complained, the receptionist did not apologize and simply said that maintenance would inspect the AC the following day. However, the system worked perfectly during the day and evening. The hotel moved us to another room, but exactly the same thing happened there on the following nights, at the same hours. This made it very difficult to believe that the problem was a malfunction in one specific room. When I directly asked the manage- Matthew, I believe- whether the hotel was deliberately reducing the AC during the night, his response was: “It’s very nice outside during the night; you can open the window.” He was rude and dismissive, and neither he nor the reception staff apologized or offered any compensation. The replacement room was also not as good as our original room. Its only advantage was that it did not face the street, so we could open the window at 5:00 a.m. just to get some air. We were exhausted throughout our stay because we could not get a proper night’s sleep. A hotel room should provide basic comfort, especially during the night. The lack of functioning AC, combined with the staff’s dismissive attitude and complete lack of accountability, made this a very disappointing stay."

"My wife and I recently stayed at 12 Revay Hotel for five nights while I was having dental work done, and we had an excellent experience. The hotel has a very unique location right in central Budapest, with the Opera House only about 200 metres away and most major tourist sights within easy walking distance. Our room and all the public areas were spotless, and every member of staff was friendly, helpful, and willing to assist with anything we needed. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, while the air conditioning worked brilliantly during the first three days, when temperatures reached 42°C. Breakfast was fresh, varied, and a great start to each morning. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definately recommend this hotel, especially to anyone visiting Budapest for dental treatment or wanting a comfortable base for sightseeing."
