"Considering the hotels' commanding location and grounds, the hotel really should be and could be so much better. The hotel itself is clean and adequately maintained, but could use some love, more staffing and a bit of a renovation. The largest complaint was the absence of a working refrigerator in the room. Its not so much that it was there and not working, but the audacity of the front desk telling me that it was not really a refrigerator, but a box that looks like a refrigerator and has a temperature control knob, and a light, but is really just there to keep things at room temperature. Nothing annoys me more than having my intelligence insulted. just admit its broken and apologize. We ate in the hotel only one night and it was some sort of special prix fixe grill night, which was most unimpressive, and the service was beyond aloof and amateur, friendly, but not very helpful. The breakfast buffet daily looked so unappetizing, we just skipped it. Things like offering umbrellas to borrow for the beach, is a nice idea, but every one of them was broken in some way. In the lounge there was an unattended bar, where you could get drinks only if you went to the restaurant and asked someone there to come in to serve you. In that lounge was a pool table which my kids were quite excited about, except for the fact it was a coin operated pool table that required 2 euros per game. It just seemed so inappropriate to have a pay to play table in a family hotel lounge. There was a ping pong table hidden under an overhang that no one could figure out how to turn the lights on for. Paddles and balls were available at the front desk, although the balls were so old my son described them as like playing with meatballs. The hallway on the lower level that connected to the elevator to the main levels, smelled of mildew something awful, however the room and facilities were clean and well appointed, except for the non refrigerator-refrigerator. The pool was in need of an update or reno and the pool bar, was also unattended. The place just needs some love to live up to the location and views."

"I don't know where to start as the experience was so awful. I should specify that we only slept here for one night out of the 4 booked. This comment is addressed to the hotel managers/owners and not to the front desk staff who did their best for us. This 3* hotel charges 4* prices (+240 euros/night) and wouldn't even deserve two. What is frustrating is that the setting is magnificent and this hotel could be incredible, unfortunately the lack of maintenance and investment is visible everywhere. Here are the points that made us leave the establishment after one night (photos below): - Unsanitary rooms and hotel! Extreme humidity, stains, and mold everywhere in the room and the common areas. The smell of dampness can be felt everywhere. - Ants in the bathroom, they come out from behind the mirror, our belongings were invaded by them. - Very old furniture, everything is broken, damaged. The wardrobe/closet in the bathroom (yes, it's surprising) is damp and you cannot put clothes in it. - The floor of the room was dirty, full of hair, crumbs. - The amount of dust in the room is absolutely not normal, the cleaning is only half done. - The paths around the hotel and in their gardens are dirty, unmaintained, slippery. - The pool: the water is between yellow and green... the lounge chairs are covered in bird droppings (which date back to another summer), the ground is littered with dust/leaves, black powder, etc. (here too, cleaning must be done once a month); there is a small kiosk with a menu of ice creams and drinks, no one sells them... no staff member was seen in this area. It's a shame, because the potential is huge. In summary, a hotel in the middle of the season, almost no staff, and an incredible state of unsanitary conditions. I see hotels every week for work, but this one was by far the worst. I hope that inspections will take place at this hotel."
