"⭐ 1 star - Don't be fooled by the photos and high ratings We booked this hotel for 8 nights, but left after one night. Our experience with Soul Beach Hotel was so disappointing that we really want to warn other travelers here. First of all: the photos and the presentation on the booking sites give what we think is a completely wrong picture of reality. We found the room very small and very outdated. This absolutely did not match the picture that was sketched beforehand. Also the location is presented as much more beautiful than it actually is, in our opinion. Although the hotel is directly on the water, do not expect a beautiful sandy beach with sunbeds. It is a pebbly beach, without sunbeds. For us, this was a huge setback. In addition, you must take into account that you don't walk from the hotel to the center of Dénia. For us, the location felt quite remote and you need a car if you want to visit Dénia. The reception upon arrival was frankly disappointing. The receptionist was very rude to us and the communication in English was very difficult. A first impression can of course be personal, but ours was so bad that we did not feel welcome from the very beginning. And be careful with parking: parking your car cost €15 per night with us. So check carefully beforehand what is actually included in your booking. What surprises us most is the high rating of this hotel. We don't recognize ourselves in that at all. Our experience was that reality strongly deviates from the expectations created by the photos, description, and reviews. We wanted to stay here for eight nights, but decided to leave after one night. For us, this was without a doubt one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. Our advice: look at this hotel very critically before you book and don't rely only on the photos and the high rating"

"Horrible. They claim to be a 4-star accommodation and I have been in dive hostels much more hygienic than this hotel. Dirty sheets, the shower curtain dirty, dampness throughout the bathroom and room. The hotel manager was not willing to offer us a decent solution; he offered us a change of sheets and shower curtain, and to paint over the damp spots, when that needs to be fixed. Of course, he didn't even offer us a room change; he simply offered us a drink at his restaurant while they "fixed" the room. On top of that, they want to keep our money and are not refunding us anything."
