"Having visited many years ago I can say that not a lot has changed apart from the clientele which are mostly Russian tourists.
PROS- Great location only a short stroll to the main strip, fabulous sea views. Shout out to all the staff from the housekeeping, pool staff, bar staff, entertainment team, restaurant staff and a special shout out to Abd EL Raham the bell person, The man deserves a medal dealing with my mother and mobilty scooter and anything else we needed help with. A big thank you! Massage at pool side was fabulous, I've had many a massage and Sameh was one of the best and reasonably priced. We found the food adequate, we didn't need to eat out maybe if there longer than a week I may, food not necessarily catered for the British. The afternoon snack was questionable? Entertainment in the evening was great and the team engaging day and night! the energy I wish I had! The alcoholic drinks were okay, own brands I mainly had a beer which was enjoyable. I will put this in a positive, we hired a mobilty scooter knowing there was a lift up to the hotel from previous visits, alas after/ before the lift no ramp so had to ask the bell Person and security each time to assist in getting a very heavy scooter up and down a very deep curb. Madness that there is no way to get a mobilty scooter, wheelchair even pram safely and independently up to the hotel. That said, management did get a ramp built! so hats off for the prompt solution to the problem from management.
CONS-Rooms very dated, couldn't find many power points so we're continually having to swap from one phone to the next to charge. wifi intermittent, kettle perched on a opening in the top so kept falling behind fridge never did find out what the opening was for? Shower strength good, shower curtain not so good. TV was replaced with a larger one and put on the wall while we were there. Two nights of the week the hotel across the road has a disco? I think for the hard of hearing! as the base is that loud you can hear it until 3am! this is not the hotels fault but being done eat plugs off you are on the left side rooms coming into the hotel. Lots of steps and no lifts in the actual hotel. Pool area probably wouldn't pass a safety inspection, the decking is old and uneven, though management have said this is going to be replaced. There are little issues that could be addressed like out of use hand sanitizers still on the wall, having up to date activities the board looks old and tired, hand soap machine broken, rail to jacuzzi unsafe.
Would I come back, yes I probably would and the reason would be the staff who do a brilliant job and make the hotel stay enjoyable, at the time we were there a few British were also there so a mix of nationalities. Would I be as happy if it was predominantly Russian with that nationality just catered for ( lots of Russian music and drinking which did get out of hand a couple of times) probably not.
This hotel at its core has the makings of a great little hotel, with a personl touch due to its smaller size. Do tip the staff if you can they do such a brilliant job.
Don't buy Egyptian magic cream on Squeezy Jet at inflated prices just go to the fixed price shop and get the same product for a fraction of the price!"
