"Loved our 5 night stay overall as a couple!
The room was small but the beds were huge! 2 “singles” pushed together as standard in Europe but these singles were very large singles! Mattresses were soft but firm, very comfortable with extra blankets in the wardrobe incase you got chilly (like myself!). For reference I’m 5’7 & 9.5 stone.
Plenty wardrobe space to store clothes. Downside, it was very….open plan! No separate bathroom, shower was a shower in your room basically! Glass divider between the basin, shower & the bed. Regardless I’m not precious & thankfully very comfortable with my partner! The wc was its own room next to the shower with a sliding door…that slides open hahah
You have to scan the barcode on the table in the room to get the food schedule (breakfast 8-10:30, lunch 1-3:30pm, dinner 7-9:30pm)
Turns out during the gaps between breakfast/lunch & lunch/dinner there are snacks you can have eg pizza, burgers, sandwiches but I didn’t know this til 3 days in, you’ve gotta venture into the dining area to get these. Also annoying when you go for dinner, there’s only a water machine available for self service
If you want a drink you’ve gotta wait at the bar (2 bartenders) before you go in. Also remember to scan your room key! Which is your wrist band (amazing idea!!!)
Food was varied- different options every night but also very samey…and hilariously British! Beef pie, battered fish, oh yes & you’ve gotta push your way in if you want some chips!!
Despite the photos there were no deviled eggs only hard boiled
The food was, I’d say good
Not fantastically amazing but everyone has their own tastes and I loved not having to prepare my own salad and just having to select pre prepared salad!
The hotel was very clean! The staff, on reception, cleaning, bar were all so lovely and welcoming & friendly! I cannot emphasize how good the frontline staff were, always went above and beyond to look after you
One downside was, the rooms have tiled floors, so you could always hear it when people were moving furniture on their balcony or when the rooms were being cleaned. Definitely a minor annoyance but worth mentioning.
The sun loungers are very close together, it’s not a huge space around the pool. There are “no reserving sunbeds” notices with warnings towels would be removed but from my balcony I could see people returning to the hotel (at midday) then getting on their reserved beds with towels on them since 9am. Was tempting to go remove towels and claim the reserved bed but alas, there were always beds free albeit very close together so really worth throwing elbows with someone 30years my senior & twice my weight bracket.
The outside bar/pizza/burger bar was closed, not sure why maybe out of season. Not an inconvenience as my legs still work and could walk inside to get a drink.
Reception staff were AMAZING however they were on their own, it takes time to check people in/out deal with queries AND answer the phone. Hotel management should acknowledge how much their staff do and not leave them to deal with EVERYTHING just because they can, at the expense of missed calls & customers waiting what id consider a long time (20mins+). Yes it’s possible to answer calls, check in, answer questions about rascal chargers all at once but we all have to wait longer & it’s not a good impression when I see 1 person doing 3/4 jobs & smiling while they do it;
Makes me think that staff member is amazing but their managers & hotel owners & decision makers are out of touch, greedy & bad at management. I bet they think this person manages, who cares if the customer has to wait an extra 15mins
That’s 15mins I don’t want to waste while I’m spending a lot to be on holiday
That’s 15mins I’m watching someone be overworked
That’s 15mins im thinking, if this is how management operate that makes me question if they understaff 1 dept, how clean are my rooms, how are the kitchen staff ensuring I’m eating safe food, is the bar staff able to make sure my glass is clean (fyi one or 2 were not), how safe is my data held on their IT Systems
I’m thinking very very highly of all the frontline staff but pondering the competency of management & directors. From these impression they want their staff to do more for less. Thankfully for them they have incredible & hardworking staff.
Either way, I would definitely stay here again after how wonderfully we were treated & I hope but doubt management takes note, appreciate your front line staff- they’re the ones that bring the money in. They’re the ones that represent your business, if they’re not treat well, us customers see it and we judge you for it."
