La Milagrosa

"Our first visit to Alicante for our annual lads trip. Chose heat for its location and reviews. We were not disappointed as it was excellent. We arrived early at 1pm and received a friendly welcome and an offer to put our bags in storage until the rooms were ready - even got a whatsapp once ready. The hotel is a beautiful old building with modern interior. Two small lifts or stairs to access the rooms. The rooms are bright and modern with tv, fridge & tea & coffee facilities. plenty of storage. lots of lighting options and sockets for charging your things up. The bathroom has a modern sliding door , large walk in shower with a standard shower and rainfall shower option. Large sink with mirror above & good lighting. Shampoo, soaps & shower gel. The rooms were cleaned every day. The only downside was the roof top bar / breakfast area was closed for renovation (although nice to see money being put back in for improvement). However the cafeteria bar down the side was reserved for guests breakfasts until lunch time. It’s in a beautiful square facing a lovely church and views of the castle. A lovely sun trap too with seating inside and out. It was E11.50 for as much as you can eat with lots of cooked options, continental and breads and cakes. Two good coffee machines and a choice of juices & even Cava if you fancied it. Good to see a separate gluten free option area too. What really stood out were the staff all of who were extremely friendly and helpful."

"We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this great hotel. The apartment we had was spotlessly clean and a great size. Having two bathrooms was also a real bonus! The design of the hotel is a lovely mix between old character and modern interior with beautiful exposed stonework in parts. We usually stay in 4 or 5 star hotels but after reading the reviews for this hotel (rated 2.5 star on Jet2) we thought we would give it a try given its excellent location. The hotel is situated right in the heart of the old town and next to the stunning Basilica. We are so glad we chose to stay here and feel that the hotel should at least be a 4 star with 5 stars for service. We loved the friendly staff and boutique feel of the hotel. Check in and check out was a breeze! The hotel caters for different sized groups of travellers with rooms that range from doubles to large apartments. The apartments have additional pull down beds plus a sofa bed, so would be great for families too. The hotel can also provide a pre bookable airport transfer for €25 so we took advantage of this and was taken back to the airport by the lovely lady who’s in charge of marketing for the hotel (sorry we didn’t catch your name). Many thanks to all the staff at La Milagrosa for a fab girls weekend away. We will be back and will recommend the hotel to family and friends."

"Had a thoroughly enjoyable room-only city break. Straightforward trip from airport on C6 bus. As others have said, Milagrosa is perfectly located in the Old Town sector, within a stone’s throw of beach, shops, restaurants – near the castle – hotel is quiet, comfy & the staff are friendly and helpful. Especially liked the guests’ lounge – we arrived way too early for the room to be ready, however were able to use one of two shower rooms to sort ourselves out – left suitcases etc. in controlled secure section, went out and checked-in later that day. In the lounge there’s a filtered water dispenser to allow filling up of water bottles – and an espresso coffee machine - both free when we stayed. Only two of us - had triple room which included hairdryer, toiletries, fridge, kettle & tea/coffee facilities and small balcony. Air con did its job. Our room didn’t have a safe. A free-standing portable security box was available but we opted to use the hotel safe. Beach umbrellas free on loan - beach towel 5 euro for duration (plus returnable deposit). Nice atmosphere on the promenade in the evening. Castle all lit up on the hillside. Watched the world go by in one of the beach-front bars. The Old Town is lovely at night and there’s a good variety of takeaways, tapa bars and restaurants to suit just about every taste."
