"The hotel is clean and has a stunning reception area. The bedroom was also absolutely fine. Unfortunately, our stay was let down by inconsistent customer service during our 3 night stay. For the ££ charge, I expected more."

"- the room is sparsely furnished, equipped only with two hard chairs - probably like in a monastery. Therefore, there was nowhere to chill, read, or simply feel comfortable. The inner courtyard right across, at a short distance, showed messy apartment balconies with laundry drying, etc., so not necessarily a beautiful sight either. - Beds uncomfortable: hard mattress, I already had back pain after the first night, which had never happened before. Bed linen like in old monastic times and anything but comfortable/relaxing: individual sheets that are not connected to each other and house a type of duvet core that keeps falling out and is anything but hygienic. The pillowcase is also open on both sides. In the morning, it's always a real mess of bed sheets. I have rarely slept so poorly. - Breakfast in a dark basement room. The buffet is not refilled regularly, so you always have to wait for plates, cups, water for the tea kettle, etc.; the "hot dishes" are not hot, but cold. As an omelet, only a "plain omelette" is offered: no mushrooms, tomatoes, cheese, etc. The service staff is very unfriendly and not at all customer-oriented. - the concierge employee tried again and again to improve the breakfast situation, which, however, did not succeed until the end. Without us asking, we were therefore offered a 10% discount on our booking. For this, the hotel employee wanted to cancel our booking on booking.com and we would have had to confirm by email that we never started the trip at all. We suspected that they wanted to save the commission from booking and pay it out to us. We naturally refused this. This hotel experience significantly dampened our vacation in San Sebastian."
