Hotel Luze San Sebastian

"Although the hotel and rooms are nice enough, the service at the bar/lunch hour is so unwelcoming that it is reason enough to avoid this place."

"My son and I stayed at Hotel Luze in July and had such a great experience. The hotel feels fresh and thoughtfully designed, and our room was genuinely beautiful—stylish, calm, and super comfortable. A special mention to Borja (the hotel manager/director) and his whole team: they were fantastic from start to finish and did everything they could to make our stay easy and comfortable. The infinity pool is a highlight—amazing to swim with those wide, open sea views in front of you. And the breakfast… honestly excellent: fresh, high-quality ingredients, great bread and pastries, and you can feel the care in it. It’s part of the hotel’s broader food offering, which is run by chef Iñigo Lavado and his family (they also run the on-site restaurant), and it shows. We left genuinely happy—and yes, we’d absolutely consider coming back."

"Do not be put off staying here by the current lowly 2 star rating, this is a fully renovated luxury boutique hotel waiting on a new rating. Everything about the hotel is beautiful, decoration throughout is very high end, bedrooms are well appointed with luxury linens, towels and cosmetic products. Breakfast is exceptional , a good choice of top quality food is served, not buffet style. We had the tasting menu lunch at Itzuli restaurant within the hotel, it was on a par with Michelin 2/3 star food which we have had in other locations. There is a decent size pool area which we used and a spa which we did not, the gym looked decent and changing areas were well equipped and as with all of the hotel spotlessly clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. You will need a car or taxi to get to town , there is a local bus service however we did not use it so I cant comment on that. Hotel Luze is a perfect place to stay , just minutes outside San Sebastian , in a pretty peaceful location."
