Bed bugs, ripped/holy sheets and broken shower with terribly unhelpful reception
"Dirty, bedbug-ridden room with holy sheets. No aircon and the sofa furniture on the balcony was missing its cushions making it impossible to use. Booked on Expedia because we flew in at 10:30pm. Reception was closed and we suffered the night to awake to dozens of bedbug bites and discover the shower was broken. We paid $172 per night for a room that sleeps 4. Walked down the road to Plaza Gloria Rooms and booked a huge clean and beautiful room for 4 for $110 a night. Hotel Balkonis argued and would not refund even after I showed them and took pictures. Expedia refunded after a huge amount of documentation including pictures of my stomach and legs with terrible insect bites. We had to wash all our clothes and take a chuck of our first day in Barcelona for this. Look at the pictures before you book this terrible place."
So disrespectful
"I cannot stress this enough; one of the receptionists was a total lunatic. Not only was she super rude and unhelpful, but she yelled at me because I spoke english. I think her exact words were "you think you’re cool because you speak english?" Even though we were both speaking the same language… she made a giant scene about us having visitors over for 2 hours one day and then forced us to pay for an extra room lest she call the police. When we asked her to show us where it says that we cannot have visitors over for a bit, she just yelled some more and said she wouldn’t show us where it’s written in the guidelines. Again, utterly useless woman. Don’t know what she was there for if not to answer that type of question about the hostal she works at. She forced us to pay the price of a night at the hotel room such as ours as if we had two rooms even though our guests were only there for 2 hours during the day. When we told her a few days after we paid for it that we still can’t find that rule in the guidelines, she still refused to show us. Unacceptable. Next off, the rooms… There were ants everywhere since our arrival. The one chair in the rom was broken. The seat just set on top of the rest loosely. There’s also no isolation, which means we could hear every little noise at all times (especially that rude receptionist that started talking obnoxiously loudly early in the morning.) It was also slightly inconvenient that we only got one room key for a room for three people."
The worst customer service
"I tried to reserve this hotel with nonrefundable rate for three days with the price of 448. euro ,after 20minutes that I reserved it,i found out i need to change the date because it did happened to me with other hotels most of the time they politely will do it with higher rate ,i called expedia.com 3 times "the agency" that i reserved a hotel they contact the manager of the hotel they didn't accept any modification.i called the hotel they refer me to expedia once again ...after several time i called them they didn't respect me as an customer at all and i couldn't reach the manager there.i would like to add that at that time still we have more than one month till the reservation date...in the end they didn't change and modify with lower or higher rate!i'm not happy with their conversations at all.its first time something like this happen to me in spain."
