Ofelias Hotel

"We stayed at this hotel last night. Having arrived around 10pm we were surprised to find the road shut due to construction work. We walked into the hotel and checked in. No mention of active construction work until we arrived in our room to find a letter saying the works had nothing to do with them - like this is justification. Now I understand construction work can happen but what I don’t understand is why this hotel took my booking, confirmed it and allowed us to pay for the room without any notification that full on construction work was taking place. The banging and crashing started around 7am in the morning meaning we were rudely awoken. Had we have known this was going to be the case we would never have stayed at this hotel. The hotel had ample opportunity to notify us about this but they chose not to. On leaving I was told that because I had raised a complaint with booking.com my issue would be dealt with by them. Having provided picture and video evidence the hotel has declined to refund me. Absolutely appalling customer service. I would urge anyone to avoid this hotel at all costs, As a side note the beds are incredibly uncomfortable too!"

"We stayed here for our honeymoon and had a really nice experience overall. When we arrived, we were offered a glass of wine which was a lovely touch. The hotel looks great as soon as you walk in and always smelt really nice. The room was comfortable and had nice extras like slippers, dressing gowns and toiletries. It was also cleaned daily which we appreciated. The staff were all really friendly and helpful – nothing seemed like too much trouble. We asked for ice to the room a few times and they were always happy to help. Only small things to mention – a couple of chairs on the balcony would have been nice, but it is quite a small space so understandable. The toilet did sometimes smell a bit like drains, but that’s quite common in warmer countries and didn’t really affect our stay. Overall, a great stay and we’d definitely recommend it."

"In a city that seems like it never sleeps, Barcelona's Ofelias Hotel was a glad oasis. e had a superior room with spacious terrace. The bed was comfortable, the room was impeccably laid out, and the quiet private outdoor space made things all the more relaxing. Breakfast, for those who like to start the day with a full meal, was a relatively accessible €18. Cafe Tartella up the street offers alternative breakfast and healthy lunch options. A mall across the street offers backup for necessities. Within two blocks of the metro. An excellent spot."
