"n. Avoid this hotel at all costs. Their staff are not trained well and very unk knowledgeable with our many interactions with them. If one is incompetent than the least you can do is to be kind and courteous, which was not the case either at this hotel. This hotel literally ruined our vacation kickoff as The hotel representative checking us in told us that our room was being cleaned and almost ready so we made an even changed our plans accordingly just to find out that our room was not ready for another nearly 4 HOURS. Yes, that is FOUR HOURS! They clearly do not have any idea of what they are doing as to tell their patrons Inaccurate information and they did not care to update us while we sat 20 feet from the check-in desk for nearly 4 hours waiting for our room that was supposed to be ready nearly 4 hours before that which was what the hotel representative specifically told us. They have plenty of opportunities to update us if the information they gave us was wrong, but they failed to do that in addition to essentially lying to us even after they got on the phone to talk to cleaning services who apparently were finishing up cleaning our room. There we were FOUR hours later finally being told that our room was ready. We reached out to customer support and after a few email exchanges, they decided to ignore any of our further emails. We escalated the issue by calling in to Hyatt customer service who failed to address our problem and to provide an adequate resolution given the terrible situation they put us in, which was so unnecessary. This hotel in particular is just awful and the entire Hyatt brand has been a major letdown in the multiple instances we have had and experience with them for, and we will no longer be patron of the Hyatt brand when you can find plenty of other hotel brands that deserve your business. STAY CLEAR OF THE GRAND HYATT IN BARCELONA AS WELL AS THE HYATT BRAND ALTOGETHER."

"Grand Hyatt Barcelona is one of those rare hotels where the property is beautiful enough to impress you when you walk in, but the service is what you’re still thinking about after you leave. I stayed in room 1535 from October 16 through October 20, and from the moment I arrived, the experience was exceptional. Check-in was quick, personalized and genuinely warm. My Hyatt status was immediately recognized, and I was thanked for my loyalty. I even recevied a nice little upgrade to a premium King with a beautiful view. The room itself was excellent and positioned on what I believe was the west side of the hotel, which gave me incredible sunset views every evening. The bed, pillows and overall sleep quality were phenomenal, and housekeeping consistently did an excellent job throughout the stay. The service across the hotel was equally impressive. From the doormen and front desk staff to the concierge, bartenders, everyone I interacted with was attentive, professional and genuinely welcoming. This hotel also has an excellent collection of dining venues, and I made it a point to visit nearly all of them. Leña was outstanding! The atmosphere is beautiful, the room has a great energy to it, and the entire experience felt polished without becoming stiff or overly formal. Maymanta is another highlight and something I would strongly recommend to anyone staying at the hotel. The rooftop setting alone is worth visiting, especially around sunset, but the food was even better than expected. I had one of their ceviche dishes and it was one of the best ceviches I have ever tasted. It was the kind of dish where you stop halfway through eating it and realize, “Okay, this is on another level.” One of the funniest moments of my stay was room service. Late one night, close to 3:00 a.m., we ordered pizza, chicken fingers and fries. It sounds simple, but I am not exaggerating when I say the chicken fingers were some of the best I have ever had. What made it even more special, was the order was personally delivered by the chef. At that hour of the night, after a long day, having the actual chef arrive at the room with the food was an unexpected level of service that made the entire experience feel incredibly personal. I also want to address the location because I think some travelers may initially look at the map and assume the hotel is too far removed from central Barcelona. It really is not. The city center is an easy taxi ride away, public transportation and the metro are accessible, and there is plenty happening in the surrounding neighborhood. In fact, I actually preferred the location because it felt less touristy and gave the stay a little more of an authentic feel. You can easily get into the heart of the city when you want to, but when you return to the hotel, you are stepping away from some of the congestion and intensity of the most heavily visited areas. For me, that was a plus, not a drawback. I stay at Hyatt properties regularly, and my personal favorite remains Alila Mayakoba, but Grand Hyatt Barcelona is now comfortably at #2. I would absolutely stay here again, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona. Do yourself a favor, have a drink at Leña, watch the sunset from Maymanta, order the ceviche, and do not sleep on the 3 a.m. chicken fingers."

"I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Barcelona on business trip in October 2026. The room was fantastic, everything was very clean, and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. Breakfast was very good too. It is an expensive hotel, although my accommodation was covered by the company supporting the trip. Overall, an excellent stay."
