"It started with less than friendly service and not so helpful front desk. They allowed us to store our bags (thank you) we came back with a long explanation of what to do each time we left the hotel. They gave you two keys and a door card. The door card opened the front lobby door and your room door, the other two keys were required to open two doors through a staircase that the local residents used, you had to return the keys every time you left the hotel and ask each time you returned-very odd. Next was the sink that did not drain, the rusty shower, the towels which actually tore when used and the biggest crazy issue was the AC-A late night knock at our door asking if our ac was working. The staff kept knocking, I opened the door and she asked to let her into our room-I reminded her of the time and we were sleeping. Next morning I asked what that was all about and it turns out that if one room has AC or heating issues all of the rooms are affected. Room 207-if you are ok with lots of street noise (yelling, traffic, trucks) and can stand the above issues and the dirty neighborhood book it-otherwise stay on the north/west end of town away from the ramblas to enjoy some peace and quiet and hopefully a hotel with basic accommodations. PS the tiny refrigerator did work and the room provided (attached) hair dryer would intermittently work."
