Hotel Santa Marta

"This beautiful hotel and location has major problems with staff and management. Making reservations that they stand by, communication, staffing for the bar and restaurant were all horrible. Not the fault of staff in general. Management was horrible."

"We are returning from 5 days in this little paradise and we are so sad to have left it… this hotel is a little gem where everything enchanted us. We stay at many hotels in Spain and this one is our favorite in every respect. First, the view, breathtaking, wherever we are. Don't hesitate to book a sea-view room, you won't be disappointed... Also, the welcome is so warm, everyone is incredibly kind with a smile and a kind word at every moment, it's very pleasant! We felt so well received. Thank you!! The hotel is very beautiful, very clean with a great history. The rooms are spacious, very clean with a large, very comfortable bed. A small downside for the shower in our room which is a bit aging, but that's just a detail. The pool area is located below. You can walk down via a very pleasant path with this wonderful view and come back up with a shuttle if you wish, because the climb can be more difficult for some. We didn't use it. This area is incredible with a large pool and a smaller one just for adults. They are beautiful and always clean. I would have liked one of the two to be heated because unfortunately they are too chilly for my taste. Plenty of lounge chairs available. You can always find a place to relax in peace. We were there in September so the hotel wasn't full. July and August are certainly a bit less relaxing. There were mostly English people who are very noisy, but the hotel is not to blame for that. As for the dining, the breakfast is incredible, the best we have had. There is so much choice. A big thank you to the whole team who does remarkable work! The room is very pleasant with that superb view always. And we were treated to a gift for our last breakfast: we were able to have it on the outdoor terrace; it was wonderful!!! The restaurant is downstairs near the pools. It is magical to eat there! The prices are a bit high, but it was quite good. At lunch, we preferred the beach bar to eat more quickly. Or the beach restaurants. We also had meals in the room in the evening with a small menu that is the same as the one at the bar. It was very good as well. The beach is a magnificent cove with crystal-clear water. It is perfect for snorkeling. There are plenty of fish to see. You can also take walks in the surrounding area to see the magnificent Santa Clotilde garden and the other coves. The spa is very nice. It is €20 per person. We did not try the massages. 5 days is much too short to enjoy this magnificent place. We will therefore be forced to return!! A big thank you to everyone for trying to speak French; I don't have the names, but the gentleman at the pool, the lady at the hotel bar, the lady who comes to bring us chocolates in the evening, and the gentleman who welcomes us at breakfast are angels."
